Ontario Second Entry Nursing Fall 2018

Published

I'm applying to the second entry nursing program in February 2018 for Fall 2018 admission. I'm applying to York, Humber, Trent, Nipissing and potentially Western. I'll be applying with a BA in psych. This is probably super premature, but I wanted some reassurance from fellow applicants. I also wanted to know if anyone, past or previous applicants, know the weighting of Additional Information forms and how they're considered during the application process? I was diagnosed with ADHD during my second year of university, after being misdiagnosed two previous times, and it's certainly had an impact on my grades. My GPA is going to be something like 6.7 on a 9.0 scale. And this really has me worried. Has anyone else had any experiences with Add. Forms?

Good luck to all!

For those who have gotten acceptances from York, my admission letter simply states that it's conditional on "proof of all degrees/diplomas earned." Does this mean that there is no minimum grade I need to achieve for my current courses? Aka is there anything that I could do outside of failing a course and not meeting my degree requirements for York to retract the offer? Thanks for the help.

I just got into uoft!!!!!!! (yes im the guy who was freaking out yesterday)

Congratulations!! Do you mind sharing what your extracurriculars were? :)

Broadly speaking I've done a lot of volunteering in my community in various capacities like tutoring, hospital ward visitor, crisis responder, board member for a healthcare organization, independent health advocacy stuff.

I've also done a lot of research these past few years as a clinical researcher at a hospital downtown with a few publications (co-authors), 1 first author, a national presentation.

Was also an athletics coach during my undergrad.

My GPA was 3.9. I am a co author on two papers and various abstracts for conferences etc. I did animal research for 1.5 years and volunteered at a daycare. I was also an executive on the neuroscience student association, and I went on a volunteer trip to Ecuador a couple years ago. I am just graduating from biomedical science at UoG!

Congratulations, if you don't mind me asking, is this where you want to go? I am a little on the fence about Uoft because as a UTM undergrad i found it a little difficult. If so, do you have any insight or plus points about the program :)

Got waitlisted for Humber, looks like I'm not getting in :(
