Anyone applying to any RPN-RN bridging programs for Fall 2020?
I applied to Ontario Tech University (formerly UOIT). I’m thinking of applying to George Brown/Trent, Conestoga/McMaster and Mohawk/McMaster as backups but I really want UOIT.

I attended the Co-Mac bridging program and graduated with a pretty good cgpa (about an 85-86% average). It’s very doable!

I am glad to hear that. I’ll be attending co-mac. Sorry if these questions have been asked. But, what are your tips to getting good grades. I hear that it’s rigirious program. Were able to work while in school? Did you transfer credits or take electives to boost GPA?

I worked part-time during the program, usually 2-3 days per week. I made good friends with people who had similar expectations for themselves academically and we supported each other throughout the program (reviewing papers, study groups, etc.). I studied hard, harder than I did during my previous program, but I also spent a lot of time learning more about my own actual learning style and what works best for me rather than just cramming and memorization which got me through my PN program quite successfully. Even though it was harder I enjoyed the BScN program far more than the PN program because the focus was more in line with my interests as a nurse (research, evidence-informed decision making, public health/population health). I didn’t do any transfer credits (aside from the credits they give you as an RPN) and you already have to take a number of electives anyways (7 when I took the program but I think it’s less now). I actually loaded up on my electives early in the program to get them out of the way which made my first 1.5 years busy but definitely helped in the end.
I also had a baby while I was in the program, took a bit of time off and returned for my final year when he was seven months old. It’s completely doable, don’t let yourself convince you otherwise ?!

Are you in the program already or interested in MoMac?
I’m currently in my final year of the RPN program at Humber and I’m interested in going to momac. My average is an 84 right now but I’m hoping to bring it up a bit higher. I’m just getting an idea of what kinds of averages are they accepting.

That's great. You stand a good chance. You want to have your average as high as possible to beat the competition. Hopefully, your effort shall pay off. All the best.
Hello
I am internationally educated nurse with RPN license in Ontario. I applied for rpn to bsc program in york university but was rejected.
Is there any other program from rpn to RN. I searched for Conestoga/Mohawk and McMaster university but their website does not mention internationally educated nurse.
Please do help me.
Thank you

Honestly, I wish I knew the answer. I know that they changed the requirements last year for applicants where they have to have advanced functions, calculus or some other math course to apply, since so many students struggled through stats.
Don't be afraid by it, just keep on top of the work. I would imagine doing it online would be challenging but they may have changed the course to make it easier for students, I'm not sure.
