Ontario RPN-RN Bridge September 2020 Intake

Published

Anyone applying to any RPN-RN bridging programs for Fall 2020?

I applied to Ontario Tech University (formerly UOIT). I’m thinking of applying to George Brown/Trent, Conestoga/McMaster and Mohawk/McMaster as backups but I really want UOIT.

Looking forward to applying for this program next year.

Congratulations guys! I went the GBC route. And am currently waiting on Ryerson to decide if I can complete the last two years with them (rather than Trent). Friends who did this heard from them in June. Fingers crossed.

Wait you can do that LOL So is that considered a transfer? Did you complete the bridging portion with GBC? I got accepted into GBC/Trent to go for Sept. Or apply to Humber for their bridging program for Jan 2021. I'm considering all my options. Would really appreciate your input.

Haha yes, you can. I know a tiny handful who went that route. I don't think it's a transfer because the GBC bridge is its own certificate. It's just way more competitive to get into Ryerson as they have a large number of seats for their Centennial students, and not too many for GBC. For Trent, you just need a minimum of 70 in your main nursing courses and there's a spot for you. Trent's placements have been reputed to be very strong, particularly in the last year when Ryerson consolidation students with the bridge were in LTC.

I'm afraid I know nothing of Humber! My only experience so far has been GBC for PN and bridging. COVID certainly has me reevaluating things as well.

I'm over the moon now! just got an offer to Mo-Mac today.

Thank you! It’s exciting. Coming from a 2 yr RPN program I can imagine how the next 3 might be. I hope to soldier strong through it.

I found it specifically more challenging in the pharmacology and critical thinking/ writing papers at a university level. However, if you're accepted then you are more than capable for whatever they throw at you :D

What semester were those (Pharmacology and the Critical/Writing)? Also, did you have to attend all the classes for your first semester, and how do you balance classes and working as an RPN? Thanks.
