Hello future nursing students,
I just wanted to make a post as we enter the new academic year, and more importantly the next admission cycle. Hopefully through this post we can all share our admission experiences, concerns, and achievements.
To begin with, I am currently a University of Toronto student completing my final year! I am hoping to apply to UBC, UofT, Nipissing, Western, and Trent. Just waiting on applications to open up! I am slightly worried I may not get in because admission is so competitive, and seeing those with 3.9+ not get in can be very scary.
How about you? Are you excited for the new school year? Any concerns for the admission process? Let's get through this together
As a reminder:
QuoteThere are two ways to create a special area for your cohort, that are Terms-of-Service approved.
One is to create a facebook page. This link is allowed to be posted.
The other is to create a "Club" within the site,by clicking onthe Breakroom link (upper left-hand corner, in the yellow bar) and in the green area, click Start a Breakroom Club.
Any other references or links posted are not TOS-approved, and will be removed.
We wish you success In your Nursing program!

Yeah in waves, mine is still pending too. It is still pretty early as it’s the beginning of May so more opportunities to come!
Hi all!! ?
I was recently accepted to Queens, Nippising SPP, and Humber!
I'm really leaning toward SPP because it is in DT Toronto, has 1-1 preceptorships and has great affiliations with UHN and SickKids. Is anyone else planning on going to Nippising?
I read a lot that schools need a deposit. I haven't heard of that for Nippising it also wasn't in my offer letter. Does anyone know if we need to pay a deposit and if so what the deadline is?
Thanks!
Hello all,
I recently got accepted to the York accelerated nursing program and am waiting to hear back from UoT (my 1st option). I'm wondering if there are any current students here who can describe their experience working part-time while in nursing school. My current employer is offering part-time opportunity when I return to school, but I'm not sure whether it would be too much to handle. I'm thinking of working 15-20 hours per week. Some quick background about myself - I'm working full time right now as a research coordinator in public health research, I have an MSc in population & public health and decided to pursue RN to combine my research experience with healthcare delivery.

Hi! I’m not a current student, but I’ll be attending u of t in September. I plan on continuing research - I have a research associate/coordinator role on a project I’ve been working on for a number of years. My roles have been pretty flexible and diverse and I have a really good relationship with the PI since the start of the project. It might be worth speaking with your PI to see how much flexibility you can have while you’re in nursing school? I did that with mine and she was understanding. We settled on 15 hrs per week although I can do less if I need (and typically, I do less than this anyways) so long as any major tasks gets done. Hopefully youR PI can be accommodating!

Hey!
I recently accepted my offer to Nippising and emailed them asking if a deposit is required. I will let you know what they end up saying!

Hey there, there’s no deposit required for Nipissing! I asked a current student and there’s a facebook group for SPP class of 2024.
