Ontario BScN Accelerated Program Fall 2022

Updated:   Published

Hello future nursing students,

I just wanted to make a post as we enter the new academic year, and more importantly the next admission cycle. Hopefully through this post we can all share our admission experiences, concerns, and achievements.

To begin with, I am currently a University of Toronto student completing my final year! I am hoping to apply to UBC, UofT, Nipissing, Western, and Trent. Just waiting on applications to open up! I am slightly worried I may not get in because admission is so competitive, and seeing those with 3.9+ not get in can be very scary.

How about you? Are you excited for the new school year? Any concerns for the admission process? Let's get through this together

Hi! I’m not a current student, but I’ll be attending u of t in September. I plan on continuing research - I have a research associate/coordinator role on a project I’ve been working on for a number of years. My roles have been pretty flexible and diverse and I have a really good relationship with the PI since the start of the project. It might be worth speaking with your PI to see how much flexibility you can have while you’re in nursing school? I did that with mine and she was understanding. We settled on 15 hrs per week although I can do less if I need (and typically, I do less than this anyways) so long as any major tasks gets done. Hopefully youR PI can be accommodating!

This is very helpful, thank you so much! My PI is usually very accommodating. He is also a physician researcher and has been supportive of my professional development in the past. I will have a chat with him soon.

Do you guys think they'll send the next McMaster round today?

I got admitted to York today!

Hi everyone! I’m likely headed to McMaster for September and was wondering if there were others / a group of prospective students for the same cohort ? I’d be new to Hamilton area and am stressed about finding living arrangements / potential roommates / friends. If you’re in the same boat please reach out! Or perhaps we should make a new group as I’ve already looked on FB to no luck.

Hi everyone, does anyone know if UofT sent out offers on this past Monday or are they sending them out today? I haven't seen anyone post about UofT in a while so I figured I'd ask! Also congrats to everyone who has received offers so far! ?

Is there a queen's gc?

Hi! I made a group for Western Accelerated Nursing Class of 2024 on FB. Here's the link if you want to join!

Hey guys! I got accepted at Queens and McMaster but am having a hard time deciding which to go to. I think I would prefer McMaster simply because it is 5 terms instead of 6, but Queens in mush closer to Ottawa (where my family is). I've also never visited either campus. I'de love to hear other's input on which program they think is best! Any advice is GREATLY appreciated ?

Hey guys! I got accepted into McMaster on May 7th.

Still patiently waiting for UofT ?

I got a refusal from Queen's. Not too disappointed, they were my 4th priority, but still.
