Ontario BScN Accelerated Program Fall 2022

Updated:   Published

Hello future nursing students,

I just wanted to make a post as we enter the new academic year, and more importantly the next admission cycle. Hopefully through this post we can all share our admission experiences, concerns, and achievements.

To begin with, I am currently a University of Toronto student completing my final year! I am hoping to apply to UBC, UofT, Nipissing, Western, and Trent. Just waiting on applications to open up! I am slightly worried I may not get in because admission is so competitive, and seeing those with 3.9+ not get in can be very scary.

How about you? Are you excited for the new school year? Any concerns for the admission process? Let's get through this together

Thank you!! I was waitlisted around the end of June and then in July they told me there would be no open spots in the program.

Thanks for the info! It really sucks that uoft makes people wait for so long ?

Hi guys!
so I applied to UofT for fall admissions of 2022. I haven’t heard back yet and I’m starting to lose hope… I’m wondering if there’s anyone who could realistically tell me if I have a chance at getting in with my GPA and EC’s so I’ll add a little overview here:

I have a 3.95/4.3 scale

I have just finished my honours thesis and have also done 3 years of research and hospital research. I have completed two missions trips. I am president of a health care outreach club at my university, I have volunteered with special Olympics for 6 years, I’m a TA and tutor and more.

I know there are more rounds coming but I’m nervous I need to start planning for something else. Any input would be greatly appreciated. And congratulations to everyone who has been accepted thus far!

EDIT: I forgot to mention I’m still completing a physiology pre-req which will be finished end of May. (Not sure if that matters)…

I had very similar stats as you and got accepted on Friday. I think if you had a strong personal statement you should have a good chance. Good Luck!

Hi, I also have similar GPA and finishing a physiology prerequisite. I got an offer on Friday. My experience isn’t as vast as yours but I’ve been working in a residential facility for children with ASD and FASD (giving meds making treatment plans etc). I wouldn’t loose hope at all if I were you !!

Your stats and experience all seem great! When comparing with everyone who got in on the first round, I noticed everyone had a 3.9 on a 4.0 scale or higher so I think that may just be the reason u didn't get in on the first round. Im sure your acceptance is coming!

Hi! I got in with just over 90 average and I didn't have as many experiences as you do! I did kinesiology research with a supervisor for a couple of years and have some work that has been submitted to a journal to be published. I didn't have a lot of community involvement, especially on campus but have been consistently volunteering as a crisis counsellor. I'm also still completing a phys prereq and another humanities prereq. I think you definitely have a good chance of getting accepted!

Hey guys,

Does anyone know about the pass/fail at uoft. I took spanish as a personal interest credit this semester (just because I wanted to learn it). One of the conditions of my offer is "On condition that each of your outstanding courses is completed with at least 60% (C-)".

Does anyone know what uoft policy is on this ? I was going to email them but I know it can take a while to hear back and I am a but panicked

Your experience and GPA seem amazing! I am in a similar situation,  my GPA is a 4.0 on UofT's scale. I'm now nervous because I thought I would have to wait until May as I'm still completing 3 pre-req courses this semester but it seems people have still been offered admission w/o all completed pre-reqs. It could be my personal statement or maybe it's become more competitive. Hoping it all works out for us in the next few rounds of offers :).

Hey, are you using it as one of your pre-reqs, because they would need to see a numerical grade to confirm it's over 60%.

No it's not one of my pre-reqs but I am worried as they specify all outstanding courses. I chose to pass/fail at the start of the semester and it can't be reversed ?

I am not sure, there's nothing on their website about it. They seem to specify 60%+ only for pre-reqs and not all courses so hopefully, they're okay with that.

When you credit/no credit (CR/NCR) at UofT, your grade of that course will not show up on the transcript. Instead, it will show CR/NCR (or pass/fail) and a credit if you pass the course. If not, you won't receive the credit but still have CR/NCR as your "grade."

I think this only applies to pre-reqs. If you didn't indicate it as a pre-req for humanities, social sciences, etc., I think you should be okay! Do email them just in case, never hurts to do so!
