Hi all,
I thought that maybe it would be good to have a sticky for online science courses.
I am currently looking for an online/distance learning-- 4-- credit microbiology course. Of course it has to have a lab.
I know that both ccconline and Rio Salado offer these courses. Anyone have experience with either one of these in regards to microbiology, i.e. testing, level of difficulty, user friendly technology. I know from experience with Rio that the exams are proctored but how does ccconline deliver their exams?
If you have a link or resources to other colleges offering sciences--please post them here.

I honestly do not know, but I can't imagine that an online nrsing program would deny nline pre-reqs.
Be careful of Excelsior. More and more states are not accepting Excelsior grads for licensing because of the lack of clinicals hours.
Does anyone know for certain if Excelsior will accept the Micro from ccconline?Sheri Ann
I'm looking for online classes for microbiology, physiology and anatomy. Any suggestions?
I am just finishing up online micro from ccconline.. I loved it. It was great. They have an A&P as well. if you want to know specifics about the class you can PM me....
my home college takes the transfer credits.

Florida Community College at Jacksonville (FCCJ) and St. Petersburg College (SPC) in Florida both offer online A&P I & II, micro, chemistry (all with labs), amond a vast array of distance learning courses. I took my A&Ps at FCCJ and my micro at SPC and would recommend them to ANYBODY. Great learning experience!!!

Organic required a science kit and software. Inorganic only required the software. You come into the lab and turn on the burner, mix cultures, etc...They even ding you for not turning off the light when you are done. The software was quite sophisticated. The home lab was about $90. I think the two software/ book kits were pretty close to that too.
Hi!I took all of my science prereqs that I needed (A&P 1 & 2, micro, as well as statistics) through CCD on CCConline. The classes were very challenging and time consuming, but they are honored at the nursing school I am applying to and were ideal for me since I have a full time job. I didn't apply for scholarships or anything, but the tuition was pretty affordable when I took the classes (last year).
Good luck!
Please tell me what CCD and CCConline is.?I have to take DSST or ECE to test out of Statistics because of my remote location ,and I am wondering what would be more difficult indep.study or on-line.? Do you have any suggestions?I am going for BSN(ADN since 1996 from Regents-- LPN since the beginning of time-LOL).I am math phobic and computer challenged , but otherwise an EXCELLENT nurse!
