Jenn, I am a student in Excelsior's LPN to RN program...however, have recently been looking into other options, to see if there is a program that offers a bit more stability (despite that I am over helfway done with the Excelsior program). Pratt was always offered to only KS residents...however, within the past month or so, admissions has agreed to also accept the applications of out-of-state residents. I have spoken to the director of the program, and she said that preference is still given to KS residents, but that other applicants will indefinitely be considered. All of the didactic portions is online; however, clinically, the student must travel various times to the college campus/clinical site. Hope that helps! Dina

Good morning! Yes, I can understand 110% with what you are saying. I was suckered in myself, and have tried numerous times as well to be released from the contract; but they refused to budge. I have gotten quite angry; they could really care less about their clients and only truly care about making money. We have been ripped off so well! But, what I am thinking... technically, they did not "finance" these books, because they will not give you more books than you have paid for. (I have asked them that question straight up several months ago, when I requested more than one subject at once, and they refused saying that they will only send the books once we have paid for them...for example, under normal circumstances, they will not send you 3 subjects, if you've only paid $600 so far...they at most will send you two). So, because of this, it is not a typical LOAN situation. So, my thoughts are that it wouldn't adversely affect our credit if we broke our agreement. Rue is such a scam and I really want out! Hey there! Just wanted to let you know that St Petersburg College (in Florida), which is a university that offers both associate and bachelor's degrees, offers both A&Ps and micro online (with all labs); they also have chemistry online if you need it; I am not sure about nutrition, but it's likely that they do. SPC is a phenomenal school and would recommend any of their distance learning courses to anybody. Contact me directly if you have any additional ???'s. Good luck! Dina :-)

Florida Community College at Jacksonville (FCCJ) and St. Petersburg College (SPC) in Florida both offer online A&P I & II, micro, chemistry (all with labs), amond a vast array of distance learning courses. I took my A&Ps at FCCJ and my micro at SPC and would recommend them to ANYBODY. Great learning experience!!! Dina ([email protected])
