  1. I completely agree. I have only been doing home health for 6 months and am finding it extremely stressful ! I am salaried and some days end up working 12-14 hours when all is said and done with the enormous amount of documentation, follow up calls to doctors, scheduling my patients for the next day, and 1 night a week on call. I feel like it's all a constant juggling act. I always thought this would be my dream job, but it has not turned out that way. I have never had high BP, but now it's averaging 150/100. Not good ! Is there any nursing job that is medium to low stress ? If there is, please share....If there was any other job that I could make enough money doing, I'd go for it. Been a nurse for 19 years. Really starting to get burned out....
  2. I took my NCLEX on June 12 and my license number was posted on June 17. Not too bad.
  3. it's not quite that simple. i don't want rue destroying my credit report for non-payment.that's why i haven't already cancelled the card payment.
  4. Hi, I know it's been a while since this was posted, but I wondered if you have had any luck with getting out of the "RUE" situation ? I haven't done anything yet and they are still charging $99 a month to my American Express account. I really need to talk to a lawyer soon. I just can't continue to pay this. I am in an actual seated RN program now (which is expensive itself) and am supposed to graduate in May '08. I so badly want to get rid of this RUE payment. I just wondered if you had found out anything.I just don't want my credit destroyed by these leaches ! :madface:Thanks.
  5. Where are those hospitals located ? The hospital I would like to work at is a magnet hospital. I wonder if that makes any difference ? I need to call their human resources dept. and ask about it (in a general way), I guess before I ever apply.
  6. Thanks for the info. I kind of figured that would be the case, but I guess I was hoping I was wrong.
  7. I have been a LPN for 15 years. 13 of those years I have been in home care. I have decided that I would like to return to working in the hospital when I become a RN in May'08. I am wondering if anyone knows if an employer will consider me a brand new RN graduate only or will they consider my 15 years of LPN experience when deciding on my pay rate ? Any insite on this would be appreciated. Thanks.
  8. Did you notify them in writing or simply stop paying ? I just want to do this right, so I don't have a lot of hassle about it and I DEFINITELY don't want it on my credit report ! I just want out of this so badly ! Thanks..
  9. Thanks so much for the input. When you just stopped paying, did they send you threatening letters, etc. ? I don't see how they could put it on a credit report myself since it doesn't seem like a typical loan. I thought about contacting a lawyer, but not sure what type of lawyer would handle this and what type of fees that would incur. ???
  10. Hi, I am an LPN (X 15 years). I guess I made a really stupid decision and signed a contract with RUE Ed. about 1 1/2 years ago for their study materials to become a RN through Excelsior College. Since then and after taking 4 of the Excelsior exams, my situation has changed and I have decided to persue my Associate Degree in Nursing through a local community college due to cost and other reasons associated with having to work full time and care for my mother whose health is failing quickly. I have almost all of the general ed. courses out of the way now after taking night classes and have applied for the 2007 Returning LPN to RN program and feel pretty good about getting in. I wrote RUE a letter asking them to release me from my contract as I have paid for all materials that I have received from them and would not be needing the remaining courses on the contract. I do not plan to order/use any more of their study guides, so I am basically paying for nothing. They offered to reduce my payment for 3 months, but would not release me from the contract. I cannot afford to continue paying them $99.00 a month for another 2 1/2 years for something that I cannot use. Does anyone have any suggestions as they will not send me anymore study guides unless I am actively testing (which I don't plan to do). If they would simply send them to me as I pay for them, I could resell them, but right now, they won't do that. I am really not sure what to do. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. SSSLPN
  11. I'm also just starting out on the LPN to RN journey through Excelsior. I've been working on Nursing Concepts 1 for about 3 weeks. I think if I can just make it through my first exam, I'll be ok. It's kind of scary when I don't know exactly what to expect. I'll be glad to offer/receive any support/encouragement I can. This is something I've wanted to do for 12 years now and I've finally taken the leap. I'd be interested in forming a group or something. Just let me know how. I'm totally new to this website, but it's been really helpful ! :)
