Help! I am currently an LVN in Texas. I am wanted to advance me career but being a busy mom and wife its hard for me to go the traditional route of school. So I am looking into online programs. I am about 4 classes shy of my pre-reqs for Bachelors. I am really interested in just getting my associates degree. Are there any online LVN to RN programs that I should look into? I am having such a hard time finding anything that isn't the BSN route. I do not want to go Excelsior route d/t the exit clinical exam would be about 7 hours away. Thank you for your help.

You will not find an approved program that does not include a clinical component. It just doesn't exist. You may be able to find a hybrid program where classroom portions are online, but you would still need to do in person clinicals.

These are ASN-level bridge programs with clinicals done locally to you:

You would have to check with your BON for the out-of-state one, of course. I have no personal experience with these — I went to Excelsior. Good luck!
Thank you! I don't mind going to clinicals. Its just that through Excelsior the exit clinical exam is 7 hours away from me, and that is both places in Texas that it's offered. I have actually been looking into Allegany College of Maryland so maybe I have found the one!!! Thank you so much.
No problem. :) You do realize that Excelsior's clinical only requires three days, right? You only have to make that trip once. Just wanted to make sure. Good luck!

What part of Texas are you in? Have you looked into WGU?

WGU does not have an LVN to RN program.

True, but about 20% of prelicensure BSN students at WGU are LPNs/ LVNs.
