I can't find an MSN to DNP program for someone who already has their MSN in PMHNP specialization and would like to add the rigor and research of a DNP. Plenty of programs offering online PMHNP BSN or bridge ADN to DNP, or a post-MSN cert switching specialties. Thank you!

There are tons of them around. Almost all DNP programs offer multiple entry options, including BSN-to-DNP and MSN-to-DNP (called Post-Master's DNP). Post-Master's DNP programs are not concerned about NP specialties. Some enroll all NPs and non-NPs (e.g. MSN informatics, education, and leadership) in their DNP program, while others require that students have an NP certification.

University of South Alabama has MSN to DNP for many NP roles, including PMHNP: https://www.southalabama.edu/colleges/con/dnp/msn_dnp.html

My understanding of the MSN to DNP program is that they are not usually focused on one NP specialty. The university where I recently completed my degree (UTMB Galveston) has one of these programs and I was privileged to take a couple of courses along with the DNP students who were from a great variety of specialties. The dean of the program was on my dissertation committee and she is an excellent researcher and clinician.
I can't seem to edit my original post - maybe the moderators will.....
I meant to say that I cannot find a post-MSN cert program that converts an MSN to a DNP. There appear to be plenty of post-MSN cert switching specialties, like post-MSN cert in PMHNP (from, say, FNP).
I’m still not sure I understand what you’re asking.
You have an MSN with PMHNP specialization correct?
All you want to do is advance your degree to DNP, and not add another specialty , correct?
Are you looking for an exclusively online program?
Most DNP programs are post-masters (or add a few extra courses if you are starting from BSN). They aren’t really post-masters’ certificate programs because you won’t just get a certificate but rather a whole new degree.

What is your current MSN specialty? If you're already an NP and want to remain in your same specialty, then you can do the regular MSN to DNP track at my school. If you've got an MSN in a non-NP specialty, then you have to do the MSN to DNP adding new specialty track.
