SU BSN transfer 2017

Nursing Students School Programs

Hi everyone,

I haven't seen a thread so far for Seattle University BSN applicants for Fall of 2017. I have submitted my application and I know that they are going to be holding interviews at the end of this month and beginning of March. I was curious to know if anyone has gotten an email asking them to attend an interview yet? I know we are only in the first week of Feb but thought they would at least send something out now for people to plan in advance for there interview.

Also since this is a new year how about we leave a little bit about ourselves for the people who applied. I will start..

I will be a transfer student currently holding a A.S degree. I applied with a 3.3 prereq GPA. I still have nutrition and microbiology to complete by the spring and hope that the last classes to complete will bring my GPA to a 3.4. As far as experience goes I was a CNA for about 5 years straight out of high school and currently now a Medical Assistant for the past 2. As a medical assistant I have worked at Swedish Medical Group here in Seattle in an urgent care type setting and currently now UW Medical ER department. All paid experience. I did receive a letter of req from a NP that I worked with at Swedish, but I know SU does not necessarily require a letter of req. I am hoping that my experience will compensate for my somewhat lower GPA. I worked full time while going full time to finish my prereq's and hope that is a dedication they will see when reviewing my application.

Specializes in Case mgmt., rehab, (CRRN), LTC & psych.

Hi,

I also applied for 2017 BSN. I was wondering about the interviews as well. I have not received any follow up email! Though I do question why the nursing addmissions app tracker changed dates as to when they received my application. It still says under review but it changed from 1/17 to 2/08.

I have an A.s degree and applied with a 3.4 cum gpa. I have a lot of volunteer experience over the course of 3 years from either northwest, Swedish and children's hospital ( hopefully this helps with my GPA) Ive also worked as a CNA for the past 2 years!

Hopefully we get an email soon!

Thank you for starting the thread, hopefully we can all share updates and support! I contacted the school recently as I am long distance and planning a trip to the area, the person I spoke with in admissions was not in the nursing department, but looked at a calendar for me. She stated that they would be contacting for interviews on February 13th, however did not specify how, and based on threads for other programs I assume that this will happen at least over several days. My application also states "under review" but I did not notice the date changes that flowergirl20 did. Good luck to everyone!

Hi All. I received my invite to the SU interview yesterday (2/14). Does anyone have insight into the questions they'll be asking?

Congratulations kpstad, I wish you all the best of luck with your interview! Do you mind sharing how you were contacted?

I received an email from [email protected] (Undergraduate Program Coordinator). It prompted me to choose an interview time slot over a 2 week time span.

I've applied too. I haven't received an email yet for interviews. I am hopeful and praying 🙏

Fingers crossed for everyone! Kpstad thank you for the update, I was getting antsy every time my phone went off! :nailbiting:

Same! I have not received anything yet. But I did call the office. The lady I talked to said that they are still sending invitations but will be sending rejections through mail. Not email!

I received my invitation for the interview! I am so excited. I have about a 3.7 pre req gpa, 4+ years experience on various medical floors as a CNA and a little over a year as an emergency room technician; I currently work at harborview as a hospital assistant.

Congrats kpstad! I hope that we both make a great impression at the interview.

I wonder how many applicants did not get invited.
