SU BSN transfer 2017

Published

Hi everyone,

I haven't seen a thread so far for Seattle University BSN applicants for Fall of 2017. I have submitted my application and I know that they are going to be holding interviews at the end of this month and beginning of March. I was curious to know if anyone has gotten an email asking them to attend an interview yet? I know we are only in the first week of Feb but thought they would at least send something out now for people to plan in advance for there interview.

Also since this is a new year how about we leave a little bit about ourselves for the people who applied. I will start..

I will be a transfer student currently holding a A.S degree. I applied with a 3.3 prereq GPA. I still have nutrition and microbiology to complete by the spring and hope that the last classes to complete will bring my GPA to a 3.4. As far as experience goes I was a CNA for about 5 years straight out of high school and currently now a Medical Assistant for the past 2. As a medical assistant I have worked at Swedish Medical Group here in Seattle in an urgent care type setting and currently now UW Medical ER department. All paid experience. I did receive a letter of req from a NP that I worked with at Swedish, but I know SU does not necessarily require a letter of req. I am hoping that my experience will compensate for my somewhat lower GPA. I worked full time while going full time to finish my prereq's and hope that is a dedication they will see when reviewing my application.

Does anyone know if only those selected for an interview have a chance of being accepted into the program?

Hey usernamedianne, I'm sure it's always possible however I'd recommend just calling the school of nursing; they're always extremely helpful every time I call with a question!

Anyone else have their interview yet? I was so nervous at mine! But I have a good feeling about it.

Hi! My interview with SU is tomorrow....how did the interview go? Who does the interview and what did they ask you about?

Hey everyone! I also have my interview with SU tomorrow! Any tips of advice? I think it's only 20 minutes long? So i'm hoping the questions are super difficult!

Hi huskygirl, I would just recommend taking a deep breath and being yourself. I had my interview on the 23rd because I wanted to schedule it for the same day as UW's proctored essay. It was really simple and I interviewed with two people who only asked me four questions. One of them was from admissions and the other was a professor in the nursing program. Good luck to you!

How did everyone's interviews go?! We're all waiting at this point, right? :)

Hello everyone!

Yes just waiting on! Do you guys mind me asking to share a little about yourself?

I am 20 and at TCC. I have a 3.81 and will be graduating in Spring with 2 degrees. I've worked in an assisted living facility for a year in IL while in high school. I've done years of volunteer work also.

I wish everyone the best of luck!

*If you haven't said anything about yourself.

Hey!

I'm a student at UW Seattle and 21 years old. I've been working at an adult family home for almost 2 years. As a sophomore I only applied to UW Seattle which was my bad and I wish I applied to SU too. Hearing about the program and what it has to offer makes me want to attend this school more than UW!

Good luck everyone!

I'm reading forums from last year and it looks like people got their first acceptance letters around March 20th-24th. I'm gonna be out of town those days and I won't have access to my mail! If anyone hears back, do you mind posting here so I know when it has started??

Yes, huskygirl, I will be commenting here as soon as I hear back. You lucky few will be the first to know whether or not I got in! haha. Ok, maybe I'll call my parents first.

I believe we are supposed to be looking out for a large manilla envelope. Acceptance letters may be sent out at a different time than waitlist or denials; not 100% percent sure on that detail though.

I have seen that it goes acceptance letters, then rejection, and waitlist last.
