Samuel Merritt BSN Spring 2019

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi all! I wanted to start this forum for potential Samuel Merritt BSN students. I have read over the forums from previous semesters and wanted to create this one for all of us anxiously awaiting the results for admission. This area was created for potential questions, shared experience, and to keep each other updated on any incoming news. I know we still have a couple months before we hear back, but maybe it will ease our minds a bit through discussion.

Hi! I applied to the Spring 2019 BSN program. The wait is killing me. Does anyone know if it matters when you applied? I applied on the deadline of July 1st because I had a lot going on with family the month of June and I'm hoping it doesnt hurt my chances.

Hi! I know, it's killing me too! It doesn't matter when you applied. They extended the deadline to August 1st because they wanted a more competitive applicant pool. There are 150 people that applied. Wish I would have known that before so I could have had more time with the essay questions!!!

I had no idea they were going to extend the deadline. I rushed everything in because I thought it wouldn't get extended this spring. I even got the email from the admissions office the week before reminding everyone of the July 1st deadline. Oh well. Hopefully it is enough to get in. I didn't know you could check the number of people that applied. That's good to know. I think they said they only have like 64 seats a semester. Good luck to everyone that applied!

Hello! I applied for the 2018 spring semester but didn't get, but I was waitlisted. I am assuming it is because I got a 77% on the Hesi. I applied again for 2018 Fall semester thinking "oh I was waitlisted for the last applications so I should have better luck this time". That was not so smart of me and was waitlisted again. Finally I took the hesi again (postpartum! 2 weeks after giving birth) and got a 84% this time. I applied for the 2019 spring semester now with a better hesi score. What do you guys think are my chances of getting in this time??

Hi I have applied to the BSN program for 2019 also I'm so nervous!! We have to keep

eachother encouraged

I'm not sure on your chances but an overall 84% is a good score and meets their 80% minimum. Are your prerequisite grades strong? Another commenter said there were 150 applicants so I guess it just depends partially on how the scores compare to other applicants. I'm surprised more people haven't found this post. Many previous semesters had a lot of prospective students communicating. Good luck I hope the third time is the charm for you!

prob also depends on your GPA, letters, responses... what numbers were you on the waitlist?

The first time I was 30 then ended up at 21 on waitlist. Second time I was 12th on waitlist and at the end was 4th or 3rd I think. I mostly have A's and B's

Hi everyone, my name is Katherine I also applied for spring 2019. All this waiting is making me anxious but I'm hoping we can all support each other. I got an email saying decisions are going out October 15th. Good luck everyone! :)

Hey everybody! Good luck to you all! It's amazing so many of us have a passion for helping people.

I am so nervous and feel like we have been waiting forever!

Hi everyone! An email was sent out yesterday about the applications going into the second stage, this is also how I found out about this forum. I want to wish everyone good luck! It's less than a month until we'll get a decision!
