Samuel Merritt BSN Spring 2019

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi all! I wanted to start this forum for potential Samuel Merritt BSN students. I have read over the forums from previous semesters and wanted to create this one for all of us anxiously awaiting the results for admission. This area was created for potential questions, shared experience, and to keep each other updated on any incoming news. I know we still have a couple months before we hear back, but maybe it will ease our minds a bit through discussion.

Hey! How did you find out about the total number of applicants in this pool? I am a little surprised that it's not higher. I've heard numbers up to 260 from previous semesters.

Hey! How did you find out about the total number of applicants in this pool? I am a little surprised that it's not higher. I've heard numbers up to 260 from previous semesters.

I went into the live chat and asked. But I have heard other numbers too so I'm not sure how accurate that is.

Anyone want to share their stats? Not sure if my GPA/test scores are competitive enough.

Anyone want to share their stats? Not sure if my GPA/test scores are competitive enough.

I have a 3.35 overall GPA, 3.96 science, and a 96.8% overrall on the hesi. I can't find a GPA calculation for all prerequisites on the nursingcas application so I'm not sure on that one.

I have 3.5 science, 3.6 prereq and got an 89 on the HESI. I asked if I should retake the HESI for a better score and was told it wasn't necessary.

I have volunteer work under my belt and had 3 letters of reference, so I'm hoping it is enough. But still feel like I might not be competitive enough!

I know that they are accepting 48% of applicants which is less than they had previously showed. Before it was around 65% but due to the higher number of applicants the acceptance rate is down.

I had an overall 3.93 GPA and only got one B in the sciences.. I got an 89 on the HESI. And i am an EMT so i hope that helps!!

You guys crushed it!! Wishing the best for you guys! did you apply to any other programs or is your heart set on Samuel Merritt?

Wish the best for you all too!!! And I applied to CSUEB , but I am really set on Samuel Merritt! What about you guys?

I thought about applying to other schools, but the state schools are so much more competitive, I have a better chance of getting into SM! If I could though, state schools are soooo much less expensive!!!

I know! I like that SM program is only 4 semesters though. CSUEB is 5 semesters. That one semester makes a difference!

Hey all! I dont know if anyone is Interested, but SMU is going to be at Las Positas College on Monday from 10am-1pm for the transfer day. Las positas is in Livermore is anyone has any last minute or general questions to ask!
