Nursing Students School Programs

Updated:   Published

Hello All!

I recently gained some information about Med Life institute. They are an LPN-RN school (with other nursing programs as well) located in Florida which offers an online/blended format way to earn your RN. After speaking to the representative she told me you come to FL for a week take some tests and exams to begin classes then do the rest online. The clinical portion is held in New Jersey at an affiliated hospital then at the end of the program you come back to take some more tests and exit exam. The total program runs about 9 months

I checked the Florida BON and saw that the school is legit and you can test for you NCLEX RN after passing the courses. This blended format is new however with the first class beginning in August of this year. I was wondering if:

A. Anyone has any experience with MedLife

B. Anyone in in the August blended class

C. Anyone is in the midst of applying to the January 18 class like myself?

Thanks In Advance to ALL responses.

Hello lynn4eva 94! How come they won't send your name to take the boards? What's the hold up? Do you have to take the boards in Florida?

I passed all my hesi's for each class with over 1000. I had 2 attempts to take exit hesi and both times my computer froze several times and reset itself and they just told me to continue. I received the same exact grade when I sat the 2nd time. Then we found out that the exit exams where compromised. Right after I sat for the 2nd exit and failed they sent me a withdrawal letter. I told them to please investigate the issue I wasn't the only one and they refused. They said you failed except it and the next day several of us received withdrawal letters. I found out after the Hesi exits where compromised. I requested my transcripts and on them even though I completed the full ASN curriculum and took all the credits I needed and passed with a 3.55 gpa because I didn't pass there exit exams they say I didn't complete the program so my transcripts have a red stamp that says "program incomplete" so even if I wanted to send the transcripts to another state I don't think they will except them because of the red stamp that says "program incomplete" so I'm really stuck.

What campus did you attend? Was the test hard and what is hesi? I'm actually starting in March, hopefully you work it out with them, or they will allow you to retest

How is the program going?

This school is the most unethical school ever. They are practically selling diploma and degree.. they are taking advantage of poor oversight on schools by the florida state. They take LPN transfer student without official transcript allow them to do internet studies for 3 months and send their papers to BON. Their RN program has no clinical sites in Delaware or New Jersey is all BS. If they have let them name one..... they charge students 16,000 give them online studies send your name to BON ....their NCLEX pass rate is around 18% . I know some of their graduates who have taken nclex more than 6 times ....they have really lowered nursing education program to nothing but scrap .. this is so shameful..

Your absolutely right!! This school is also fraudulent with financial aid funds. There under investigation for taking a students scholarship money and the student had completed the program almost 5 months prior. She paid tuition in full and they kept her scholarship money. I hope they close them down!

@Nurse2b14 it is going great I love it!

I'm very happy for you. I hope you complete it before they close them down. Because there going up to accreditation again in may for the current situation. As of right now there pass rate is 43%. A complaint has been filed with the attorney general and she's closed schools in Florida before. So I really hope your almost finished.

@Lynnd4eva94 it seems like your own personal issues are why you are not recommending the school. Your computer "freezing" twice is not the schools fault, you were clearly a fan of it prior to have completed your studies there,

I would defiantly recommend the school to anyone who is looking to transition from LPN-RN

Well since you haven't walked in my shoes to know what really happen you can have all the opinions you like. You have that right, but be careful not to recommend it to much because per the Florida board of nursing there likely going to terminate the school. If you don't believe me go to the board of nursing site I'm not the only one this has been going on way before I came along. Better yet give the board of nursing a call and give them the schools name and then let me know if you'll recommend them. The only major mistake I made was I didn't research the school before I decided to attend nursing school but you live and you learn. And for the record it wasn't just computer issues there where way more issues that I didn't even begin to address or even mention. You know the say what happens when you assume.....I'll leave it that. God bless.í ½í¸

You are CLEARLY a paid shill for this unethical/ borderline criminal organization. And you should be ashamed to keep defending them while they destroy lives financially and otherwise.
