Hi! I'm in the beginning stages of putting my application packet together for the Fall 2017 Direct MSN Hybrid program at Marquette University. So far, I have been very pleased with the conversations that I have had with Rob Haworth, the admissions advisor for the Pleasant Prairie site. My husband completed his undergrad at Marquette, so I know the wonderful culture of Marquette and knew that this was where I wanted to go to complete my MSN.

Also, I was wondering if there was anyone that has or is currently going through the hybrid program through Marquette? How has your experience been? Thank you!

I have been in the process of applying to this program as well! If any current students can comment on the application process and timeline for admission that would be great! Also, where have you been able to work after graduating?

Hi FutureNurse518! It looks like there's a lot of "buzz" for the main campus cohort starting in August. I'm getting my packet together after the new year and hoping to have it all together by the end of February, although I know ours isn't due until April 15th. Have you been in contact with Rob in Pleasant Prairie? Let me know if you have any questions and I can help you out the most I can.

Hello!

I am still completing a Nutrition course online and taking a stats class as my local community college( the last time I took stats was in high school for AP credit) so once I have completed the nutrition course I can submit my application! Do you have any idea how competitive the application process is? I am applying to other programs in Chicago as well. I have been working with a woman named Kelly, but she has been great too. I just wish I could talk to some current students!

Has anyone gotten any feedback from current students? Looks like this particular location and hybrid program only started last fall. Has anyone toured the facility and scoped it out themselves yet?

I haven't had much luck with getting any feedback from current students. I'm all the way in Alaska, so I haven't visited the Pleasant Prairie facility in person, although I have been to Marquette University on a few occasions as my husband is an alumnus.

Hi! I am also completing pre-reqs and hoping to apply for January 2018. I have spoken to Kelly and she was helpful but I would love to hear from anyone about your experiences with this program!

Hi! I am currently in the process of applying for the Marquette University Direct MSN program in Pleasant Prarie. I was offered the opportunity to apply early in the first round by March 6th, and sent my application last Friday. I am super excited, and super nervous. I am going to visit campus tomorrow, and this is my top choice. Any information about applying/admissions/ acceptance would be fantastic. I am very nervous.

Hi! Are you a current student at pleasant prarie? I have submitted my app on nursing cas and am eagerly waiting. Am visiting campus tomorrow and would love to hear your experience. How competitive is this program? I'm getting so nervous. I was allowed to apply in the first wave of applicants, and applied last Friday. :)

I'm curious about applying too. I've already been to the "campus" and although it is a very odd setting, the current students I spoke to seemed extremely happy they made the choice. The opening class this past August is only 13 students with the January cohort being a little over 20. My worries were that they said they may allow up to 60-ish for the Fall start, and this facility with the professors they have/size of sim lab/ number of classrooms/lockers seem they could handle this capacity. Also when looking up the Marquette NCLEX pass rate, it is not over 90% as advertised. Most arent--I looked it up and it is around 83%. Unfortunately, this program has not had a graduating class, so their pass rate is unknown for this Hybrid Program. The staff and students were very friendly, but just do your homework with this kind of program. I was not also able to get clear answers regarding their financial aid and was told to "contact marquette's financial aid office regarding the cost of the program and scholarships available" which has been a first with other schools I'm looking at.

Hmm.. I am meeting with Rob Haworth tommorow to view the pleasant prarie campus. I am happy to hear they will be taking close to 60 since it ups my chances a bit in getting accepted. So far my interaction has been very positive and I hope I enjoy the campus. When I spoke with them about financial aid, they said to contact the main campus as well, which I have not yet done as I was hustling to get my app in. Did you already submit on Nursingcas? I'm in the beginning of the waiting stage at this point. I know it is a new program and I hope it is not one of those ' too good to be true' kind of things.

Hi Abrazel,

I just spoke with Rob today, as I was offered to apply March 6th as well and he told me that they haven't opened the early decision process and that as soon as they do, he will be giving me a call. I have not been to the Pleasant Prairie campus, as I'm here in Alaska. How is it?
