You might be able to take some online classes to get through some of the pre-requisites to get into nursing school. I can't think of any nursing schools where you could do all the work on-line because nursing is such a hands-on profession. Most nursing schools expect about a year of anatomy and physiology, microbiology, psychology, and a minimal level of reading, writing and math. You would also need to take some electives to get a degree. If you are thinking you can get a nursing degree while staying at home, it's not gonna happen. I go to a community college and nursing school costs about $1200/term, plus there are expensive books and supplies to buy, plus, there is extensive time to invest.

If you are already an LPN you could do Excelsior's program. My wife is currently in the program and it is nice because it is ALL online with the exception of the CPNE (clinical evaluations) that take place over 3 days at a participating hospital. A lot of her colleagues also went this route and they have said that it is nice because you go at your own pace; however, because it is all online you really need to be self motivated. There is nobody pushing you to study and the only test is the final exam for class credit. Sink or swim :) Hope this helps.
