Online MICROBIOLOGY CLASS??

My school offers micro as an online course, but it has lab usually one day a week for 3 hrs, but the micro course at our school is so hard that most take it with the lecture

Hello all!
Can anyone help me with suggestions? I need to take an online Microbiology class this spring 2007. Many schools are telling me that a lab is not required, but a couple are saying they do require. Better safe than sorry I guess but not sure...
CCConline has a course with lab but that school is so confusing as you have to find a home college with the course first. Super confusing...anyone have experience with this school? Please share!!
Also, I contacted many schools that accept a Microbiology course from the university of phoenix but there is no lab there.
Please advise!

I'm taking Microbiology with ccconline this spring (starting January 22). You don't have to find a home college with the course, you just have to name one of the colleges as your home college. The reason being, ccconline is NOT a college, but rather a group of colleges collectively. Your home college will be the place that transcribes your grade and will issue your transcripts. Your transcript will just read as any other college transcript. It will say BIO###Microbiology 4 credits and your grade. Just like any other transcript.

If you need any help, just PM me. I would be happy to help you. I took chemistry and Pharmacology calculations with them. It was a good experience.

PS. I don't know the difference between the colleges. I named the Community College of Denver as my home school. They have always been real helpful and transcript retrieval is easy since you can order them online on their website.

Oh thanks!!!!!! Glad to hear! Do you know if it makes a difference between the sessions? I think I am possibly interested in the Session 2 so do you think I can still apply to any of the schools? Do you think it helps to apply to more than one? Thank you!

I'm a lab assistant, but I trained as a lab technologist. As such, I've taken several Micro courses. It's a subject best learned with labs, if you can manage a lab course (don't know how busy you are!).

Session 2 is just going to be shorter in length and thus, faster pace. The curriculum will remain the same. I prefer to take sciences a full semester since I have four children and the workload is lighter that way.

You don't have to apply to more than 1 school. When I applied to the Community College of Denver, I filled out the app and had access to enroll in like 2 days. If there is a pre-requisite to the course you want, you would just have to fax an unofficial copy of your transcript to them before you could enroll. However, I'm enrolled for their Micro class and I didn't have to prove anything before enrollment. (I took A&P I and II somewhere else).

Just keep in mind, the lab kit for this class is like $300 on top of the book and tuition. However, I hear you really get your money's worth for the lab portion. I guess it is quite similiar to actually doing the lab on campus.

Session 1 starts next Monday. If you want to make that date, you might still have time. I would talk to someone at ccconline and see if it can still be done.
