Post emergency C-Section information needed
Not quite sure about the supine, as we usually have the pt in a low fowler's position in recovery. Rhogam is usually given to negative mom's on the postpartum floor. and a uterus deviated usually means a distended bladder and they need to pee. bladder distention incr risk for bleeding as the uterus is not able to contract with a full bladder..

Low census...please help!!
we keep track of when you took it last, PRN people are always offered first, then down the list, if no one wants it then PRN have to take it. if staffing is low during the shift, again we go down the list asking if anyone would like to go home based the last taken list.

Any nurses in Beaufort,columbia,charleston sc
There are 3 mjr hospitals in Columbia, Lexington Medical, Palmetto Richland/Baptist and then Providence. Starting is anywhere from 18.48-20 + it really depends.. Richland is the easiest from what I hear to get into as a new grad. I work at Lexington and it is great hospital to work at , I have friends at the others.. it all depends on what you are looking for...

is it more likely to get a job in L AND D in a smaller hospital?
I was lucky enough to get a L&D positon after graduation, however I had one yr of med/surg as an LPN so that helped me out alot, as I had the basic nursing skills under my belt. Try a teaching hospital it may help, but it is very difficult to get into, basically a nurse has to leave or die for a position to open!

Birthing Ball Policy
If a pt wants to use a birthing ball, and there is no reason, baby is fine, and they can be kept on the monitor then we let them. We don't have them sign any release and not really sure why?

Midlands Technical College Nursing Student
I did the first evening wkd class when it first started at MTC. Classes are either 2-3 days a wk clinicals all day Sat, and then Sat/Sun in 265. Most of us in it work either stay at home moms, or those who had to work full time. you do not get the normal day instructors as the other students, there are a select few that stay with this class until the end of the LPN program then you transfer to the day program to finish the last two semesters. It is a great option. good luck!

Fundus palping
Curious as to why you would not be encouraged too. PPH is of the highest concern after both a lady partsl and cesarean. Amt, color and odor are all something that should be assessed and documented. It is not the most fun part of our job and the pt's don't enjoy it at all, but the most important.

I don't understand the diff between ADN & BSN????? Help!!!
What bothers me the most is at my facility badges have RN, then BSN on them, just b/c we have an ADN doesn't mean we are any less a nurse but having a BSN deserves credit? I worked just as hard as they did and people do look at u differently, or they ask are u going back to school. No I am very happy with my ADN.
