Online LPN to RN Program Recommendations

Published

Was looking into an online LPN to RN program. I thought about Excelsior but they require hands on nursing that is recent and because I do Utilization Review I am not currently doing hands on nursing. Any recommendations? Thanks!

Looks like this one requires on campus time-in North Dakota. From that I would surmise the clinicals are also in ND. Brrrr.....

Brr is right ha ha

Specializes in EMS, ED, Trauma, CEN, CPEN, TCRN.

Pretty sure they have this fancy stuff called "heat" in ND. :roflmao:

Make sure you inquire about extended care cases, not intermittent visit type home health. I can't see you easily handling two (up to) full time jobs if the home health job involved driving around to several locations. Besides, visits are not usually done at night, but you can get a respite type extended care shift case at night that is doable with the rest of your schedule.

That's why I am still searching. I do love what I am doing now and don't want to just quit.

Specializes in ER.

Keep in mind that Excelsior is not approved in some states for initial RN training. So if you move to California, you cannot be licensed as an RN with just Excelsior as your initial RN training. My advice would be to look at local community colleges. Our local community college offered lectures online and clinicals once a day at the sites.

Yes, community college may be my best option for sure!

WGU is very diffuse to get into. I have a high gap and I have been shot down several times.

Anyone currently taking online LPN-RN courses in capscare academy Florida please kind of having difficulties with some courses any tips will be greatly appreciated thanks
