Was looking into an online LPN to RN program. I thought about Excelsior but they require hands on nursing that is recent and because I do Utilization Review I am not currently doing hands on nursing. Any recommendations? Thanks!

You would have to check applicability and acceptance in your state.
An Online LPN to RN Program at Allegany College of Maryland looks like only available in Maryland, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Texas, Virginia, and West Virginia.
LPN to RN Online Bridge | Hutchinson Community College - this one requires a background check for Pharmacy tech but not nursing. Hmmmmm.

That is strange! No background check for nursing LOL
Just to clarify, I know they all require clinical component but what I meant is I am a utilization review nurse (full time) and Excelsior seems to have an issue with that because it's not hands on nursing currently.
That is correct. If you are not in a position in which you have performed a certain amount of direct care in the last year and going forward at certain periods, you do not meet admission criteria.
The two big players in online nursing education for LPN-to-RN transition programs are Indiana State Univ (LPN to BSN) and Excelsior College (LPN to ASN).Both programs require a face to face clinical practicum component.
Both programs require a face to face clinical practicum component.
I know they require a face to face clinical component but just to clarify, I don't think I can get in now because I do not do hands on as I am a utilization review nurse now. I haven't done hands on for 3 years.
Thanks! That's what I was thinking too. Do you happen to know how much direct care is required? I really don't want to quit my job and go do that full-time but could if only a few hours a week.
It's in the "verification of healthcare experience" form that is linked on this page: Excelsior College | Admissions at Excelsior College: Requirements

You might be able to satisfy the direct care component by doing extended care home health shifts just as long as they do not specify what kind of clinical experience they require. Depending upon your schedule and stamina, you could even do a full time home health schedule to meet the minimum number of required hours per time period. Something that would have to be worked out to suit your needs.
Thank you!
Looks like this one requires on campus time-in North Dakota. From that I would surmise the clinicals are also in ND. Brrrr.....
Make sure you inquire about extended care cases, not intermittent visit type home health. I can't see you easily handling two (up to) full time jobs if the home health job involved driving around to several locations. Besides, visits are not usually done at night, but you can get a respite type extended care shift case at night that is doable with the rest of your schedule.
