Nursing Students CNA/MA

Published

Hi Friends!

I am trying to get trained as a Nurse Assistant and wanted to know how major hospitals look at online training. Has anyone taken the course from this website:

http://www.nursingassistanteducation.com/

If so, how was it? Were you able to get a job? Etc etc etc.

Please help!

Thanks sooo much!

Specializes in clinical, audits.
Its just my op, but I'd think twice before taking it. CNA covers alot of material, most of it learned in lab. (thats where most of my final questions came from which do you do first, how would you handle x y, z ect) the cost of the site is low but you can do the red cross one for free. Good luck :)

How do you do the class for free?

Depending on what area you are in, some Red Cross' will offer it for free. I have not found one in FLorida (North and Central doesn't even have one)

I am taking the class with the red cross in Northeast Florida, but it is $810.00.

Specializes in ICU/UM.

I took a combo class thru the Red Cross. We completed the book online and did lab in person at the Red Cross and clinicals at a local nursing home. It did cost around $500.

I meant that central didn't have one yet at all and North Florida wasn't free. I should have worded that better!

I wouldn't take the online course - CNA work is definitely more hands-on. Check nursing homes and facilities around you - many give CNA classes for free or very cheap.

I cannot seem to find a list of accredited schools anywhere online. Can someone give me a good link please?

I found this link

(DADS)

but it doesn't say if the schools are accredited or not.

Thanks so much! :D
