Last year on this day, I passed my CPNE! Time surely does fly!! A year later, I'm working as an RN in the emergency department, I passed my CEN, and I'm 4 classes into my BSN. So keep the faith, EC peeps! It's worth it.
My brother and his family live in Woodland Park, up the pass from the Springs. Bill is a systems engineer for Hewlett packard in Colorado Springs by day and a musician in the local clubs on weekends, Donna is a 3rd grade teacher in the Springs, niece Jessica is a grad student in psychology at UC/Colorado Springs and nephew Billy is undergrad ROTC air force at UC Boulder. Great universities, and hospitals in the Springs area. If my son decides on college in Colorado, I am going too. Love the area just north and west of the springs. See ya there!

Michael (husband) lived in Colorado Springs for 10 years after he got out of the Army, and it's his favorite place on earth. I love it, too -- we usually vacation there every year, but we went to Oregon last year instead (my grandparents are 94 years old, thought it was a good time to see them!). I think we're headed out to the Springs in October; I'll see if I can meet with any hospital-types then, just to get a little face-time!
You've achieved so much this year and helped a lot of people get through the CPNE. Including ME!!
If you move to Colorado you'll be closer to me. I'll be in Arizona in a few weeks. I'm a little on the Nomadic side myself. I get the urge to move. Can't believe I've been here in MS 13 years....not by personal choice. LOL

We'll have to come visit! :) I know, I've been in Virginia for 15 years ... that is a record for me. But I've lived in three different cities during that time, and owned four different homes, so I've moved around a bit.
I've already contacted the Colorado BON about endorsement -- I'll need 2,000 hours of RN-time to endorse in as an EC grad, and I should have those hours in September or October. I asked them how to best document the hours, and they said a note from my employer with my application would be helpful, and they'd also do an employment check. So there's that! The challenge will be selling our house, mostly likely. Ugh. The logistics of it all are enough to drive me batty, but I'm a stubborn girl. When I make up my mind about something, watch out!
Lisa;
Belated Congratulations!! Time does move along. It seems like forever ago that we were in the CPNE prep class in Charlotte, NC! I am attending Liberty University and plan to graduate with my BSN in March 2010. I was pushing for December, but one of the classes I need wasn't offered this summer, so that will delay me a little.
I agree with you in that I will Never do the CPNE or anything like it again....ever! But, I would not have done it any differently if I had it to do over again.
If you are ever in the south-western corner of SD, look me up!

Luna,
You are such an inspiration. Thanks for all your post. I have already learned a lot from you as a "EC newby!"
