One more done!

Second go-round of NC2, got a B today. Thanks in large part to finally treating my ADD !! Things made sense that never made sense before.

Two nursing exams left -- NC5 and NC7 ... then adult developmental psychology (when I clepped lifespan years ago it didn't include the adult stuff so I have to do this), ENG 102 (signed up for internet class at local college this spring and -- I'll be done! Except for the CPNE of course ...

I'm starting to feel like I am making PROGRESS ... this time last year everything was "on hold" because of family problems, I only started the exams in August. Now if the money would just show up for the next couple... ah... there's always something.

I've got to say I'm impressed with how fast Excelsior processes these things. They got my scores for ASL from the local college on 12/8 and I received a notice yesterday that it would take 4-6 weeks -- but when I got online I see they have already processed the credits! Way to go Excelsior! Seems whenever I take an exam it shows up pretty quickly on my status report.

....My intuition has told me I will take the CPNE in Plano, Texas even though Atlanta is closer to me.....I'm Henry the eighth I am

Henry the eighth I am.....

If you come to Plano, you will have to look me up--I live 12 miles from that hospital. I'll take you to supper one night you are here.

As for Henry, I don't have the recording any more, but I remember when it came out.....

Hey, thanks a lot. So much for my intuition, just got back from taking my micro test. Made a B not an A...but I keep seeing an A ''somewhere''...but a B is good with me.

You know I was so excited I couldn't even wait until I got home to call up EC and register for NC 3. I called on my cell phone driving home and read the debit card number and everything while I was doing 70 on the highway.

Sorry Laurie, I didn't mean to hijack your thread...I'll hush up now.

Hijack away, we all need good news on a regular basis. B's are good. Even C's mean you pass. I usually manage a B average without trying TOO hard (just usually test pretty easy, haven't been nearly as good at studying), so the occasional C doesn't bother me as much as it used to. The only letters that really matter are R and N for me!

A&P and micro are very difficult. A B on either of these tests is quite impressive. But a C will take a person as far as a B or an A. Once you are an RN you are an RN regardless of whether your transcript says A, B or C.

That stinking micro test had 160 questions on it. Toward the end I was soooo tired I just started taking pot shots at a lot of the questions. Thankfully, it didn't hurt me too bad.

Were you not well rested? 160 questions should not be that much of a challenge.

Probably ought to come up with a better attack method than pot shots. Won't work on your nursing exams, and sure won't work if you are tired and having to come up with answers on the job.....

I'm glad it "didn't hurt you too bad." But the odds are good that the next time you use the chance method, you won't be quite so lucky.

I wish you a more satisfying experience next go-round.

Good luck!

When I started that micro test and saw there were 160 questions I thought, my god, I'll never get through this! I just wanted it to be over soooo bad!

Well, let's see. I work 7pm-7am 5 nights a week, between driving the kids to school and back, doing all the food shopping and preparation and household chores and taking care of a demanding invalid husband I can't say I was too well rested. In fact I was downright exhausted and burned out also from cramming for four days for the test. It would have worked out better if I could have scheduled with Prometric a week later but no, they said the next open appointment they had was the middle of January, so forget that mess. I'll do what I have to to get done. When you go through Excelsior you don't just go by their schedule you have to work around the testing center's schedule.

And between all of this I have bags under my eyes and my mind is fuzzy. On top of that I have to deal with depression compounded by the dreary winter weather (which I am doing with the help of Lexapro) The only thing that keeps me going are the kids, my animals, and looking forward to things changing for the better. I'm fantasizing that this summer will see me and the kids riding the trail on our horses...HECK YES I'M TIRED.:stone :stone :stone

But I'm making progress.
