One more done!

Second go-round of NC2, got a B today. Thanks in large part to finally treating my ADD !! Things made sense that never made sense before.

Two nursing exams left -- NC5 and NC7 ... then adult developmental psychology (when I clepped lifespan years ago it didn't include the adult stuff so I have to do this), ENG 102 (signed up for internet class at local college this spring and -- I'll be done! Except for the CPNE of course ...

I'm starting to feel like I am making PROGRESS ... this time last year everything was "on hold" because of family problems, I only started the exams in August. Now if the money would just show up for the next couple... ah... there's always something.

I've got to say I'm impressed with how fast Excelsior processes these things. They got my scores for ASL from the local college on 12/8 and I received a notice yesterday that it would take 4-6 weeks -- but when I got online I see they have already processed the credits! Way to go Excelsior! Seems whenever I take an exam it shows up pretty quickly on my status report.

Congrats!!! Boy, seeing that status report sure is an awesome feeling, isn't it? I think I printed mine up when I was all finished.

Keep up the great work!!!

Congrats, Laurie! You're almost there!

You are inspiration to the rest of us!!

Way to Git-R-Done.

Way to go! I know what you mean, I had to take care of my depression before I could get started. I pledge allegiance to Lexapro...:)

I'm taking Microbiology tomorrow morning. After that I'll have six more courses to take. I'm figuring on having them all done sometime in February. It took me so long to get started because I was afraid I couldn't do it. But the tests aren't that bad. Sure, they require some thinking but I think we're all above average intelligence here and if you want to do it you can. I love the EC study guides, you just follow along and look up the points they mention in the textbook, and I didn't believe it until I tried it but you learn a lot this way! Forget spending months going through the drudgery of going to class! I'm using an old crusty Microbiology textbook I got for $2.00 at the Goodwill.

I'm planning on taking the CPNE about April, I'd like to take it sooner if I can but I'm being realistic here. :smokin:

Hoping to take it in Plano, Texas. I have a sister who lives there.

Are you enrolled yet? I called Excelsior. I'm now ENROLLED! They told me I would get a welcome packet in the mail soon.

Good luck to you and if there is anything I can help you with let me know.

That's a great plan, but even if you were done with your nursing exams today it is not likely you'd be able to take the CPNE in April. From what I understand, it takes about a month after your last nursing exam (with less than 9 other credits needed) to get the paperwork, and then there is a 4-6 month waiting list to take the CPNE, depending on the site. Some get in sooner by getting on a list to be called in case someone else cancels! I am planning to be done with my last nursing exam no later than the first week in February, I figure I'll be taking my CPNE in August.

I've been enrolled since July 2003. I was about ready to take my first exam when my son was hospitalized for bipolar in September. Money has been short, so I didn't start again til this past August. You can only take NC1 and NC2 without being enrolled -- I have NC5 and NC7 left and that's it! For the nursing exams anyway

I'm really impressed though -- if I had to do Microbiology or A&P I don't think I could do it the Excelsior way! I don't think I could study a subject from scratch and pass any of these tests, for me at least there really had to be a good bit of prior knowledge tucked away. I'm sure you'll do great. I think I'm leaning towards the Wisconsin sites for my exam, Ohio is the closest to me but I haven't heard much about it and that is still a 6 or 7 hour drive.

As far as my case goes, we'll just have to wait and see, I reckon. But I tapped into my psychic intuition and from what I can gather I will pass Microbiology tomorrow (I keep seeing an A but this seems pretty unbelievable to me right now considering I have only studied for this test four days but I guess I will really test my sixth sense tomorrow) be finished with all my pre-CPNE exams sometime in February, take the CPNE sometime around April and by the time June 2005 rolls around I should be a bonafide RN. My intuition has told me I will take the CPNE in Plano, Texas even though Atlanta is closer to me. Since I am willing to travel I am assuming this set up is because I will be taking someone else's place who couldn't take the test as scheduled.

I can't believe I have pulled off NC 1 and A&P in a month, if I make it through micro tomorrow that will be three in one month, but from what some say on here that isn't unheard of.

I've kind of gone berserk over here, I've got that silly tune running through my head all the time as I buzz around...

I'm Henry the eighth I am

Henry the eighth I am, I am

I got married to the widow next door

She's been married seven times before

And every one was an Henry (Henry!)

She wouldn't have a Willy or a Sam (no Sam!)

I'm her eighth old man, I'm Henry
