yes! there ARE some of us out there who still love nursing! and guess what?....as the shortage gets worse, remember we are a commodity IN DEMAND....there is no shame in making GREAT money while doing something you love....at the risk of sounding like I am male bashing (i'm not)...men have been smart enough to do it for YEARS!!!

I would love to hear from any and all RN's...especially those in Michigan!

Rock on, Sister Nurses! :yeah::nurse:

I am very happy to be working in this economy, but I believe I should be making more than $25/hr. I don't know if I could support my family if my husband were to lose his job (he brings home more than 2 times my pay). And we don't live beyond our means. I believe we actually live below our means. But, if I were to be the soul provider in my family, we would definately be living pay check to pay check. And that sucks.

Specializes in ER, Float (MS, SD, CCU, OB).

I left South Central MI because I couldn't make any money and started travel nursing. I was making $28/hr in the ER. Avg wage across the states I've traveled has been more like $32. Have rates gone up back home in MI?

Specializes in ICU/Critical Care.

I don't think they've gone up.
