Ok I am FREAKING OUT

Ok.. So I have done a total of 5 drug tests... everything has been grand, all negative. Until this one. I don't know why. I did have to take an antibiotic for a UTI. I mean.. I think I tested about a week after I was done. I wouldn't think I would test positive for anything.. I didn't even think to fax them the prescription. Which If I can remember correctly it was Keflex. I was googling it and it said possibly cocaine. Idk. I am freaking out. The other thing, I tested after I left the gym, but only made had 1 water bottle. Maybe not even that. How much trouble am I in?!?!?!?!

- I also emailed the leader of the CANDO program as I have emailed her in the past and asked how I need to correct this. I also just started a new job. I don't want to mess anything up. I am so scared.

So.. No one has called me back. I have messaged them, emailed them... No one calls me. ***... I'm sorry.. but if this is a positive drug test, why aren't they contacting me? Also.. is that why it took 9 almost 10 days to post on my account. Does that mean they retested it? or did the 2nd test they all say they can do?

Your notification should have told you what you were positive for. When I had a false positive it said + EtG and gave the level. But I went through this a long time ago.

She called me back finally today and said alcohol. Thst a MOR would call me and I need to do that PETH test... I rarely ever drink... I had 1 but after the test that came. Back positive, which is weird to me . So idk how screwed I am.

So I checked my recovery Trek, and it says now for me to contact someone and do this PETH test. Any recommendations?

All Peth are done by a USDTL lab. In other words you will have to find a local lab that knows how to do the p e t h and is able to send it to usdtl. It can be a blood draw or a finger prick test. Call recovery trek and ask them what the procedure is. When I did my peth I went to a lab that did Peth and had USDTL lab Coc's. I don't know how it works in your state but in Texas usdtl is the only place PETH blood goes to and only a USDTL form can be used.

A piece of advice in some programs when positives come up, and questions arise..lie detector tests are a possibility. When, I had my false positives I was a year and half into the program, had met all the milestone without an issue. Had multiple positive reports from out patient and after care therapist. I requested a lie detector test the minute I saw the positive because I can pass if the question have I drank or used anything since I signed my contract was asked. I was told to calm down, I had a good record and there was no reason to view it as anything initially but a false positive. And I was told that the fact I was willing to take one was a clear statement in itself. You are early in the program. Please, always ask yourself when you are tempted by anything. "What if I got into a situation where they asked for a lie detector test."

That's kind of what it said. when I checked in, it said "contact case manager and find location to do PETH test" something along those lines. Anything I can do prior to this test. it was 1 drink on 2/18... I took some detox pills and downing water. Does donating blood help? Now that I have pretty much given myself an anxiety attack and want to off myself (not really) I will never ever risk it.. The dumbest thing is, the only drink I had was on 2/18. it was after the drug test on 2/16, so I really don't even know what made me positive to begin with.

Peth does not test for only one drink. If it wasn't only one drink, you might want to get ahead of this right now and be up front with your caseworker.

i put it on my fathers grave.. that was the one. I don't binge, I am really not a drinker. I would be honest, but really honesty has gotten me no where. I am over it. If i can pass this, i'll pass it, pay it, and move forward and never have "1" again. Its fine. I'm just wondering if i'll be okay to pass this.

One drink is all it takes sometimes. These programs are total abstinence!

PETH is supposed to only detect binge drinking... so you should pass if you had just one drink. But please be abstinent from now on... it's not worth it.
