Ok.. So I have done a total of 5 drug tests... everything has been grand, all negative. Until this one. I don't know why. I did have to take an antibiotic for a UTI. I mean.. I think I tested about a week after I was done. I wouldn't think I would test positive for anything.. I didn't even think to fax them the prescription. Which If I can remember correctly it was Keflex. I was googling it and it said possibly cocaine. Idk. I am freaking out. The other thing, I tested after I left the gym, but only made had 1 water bottle. Maybe not even that. How much trouble am I in?!?!?!?!
- I also emailed the leader of the CANDO program as I have emailed her in the past and asked how I need to correct this. I also just started a new job. I don't want to mess anything up. I am so scared.
Well you won't gain anything by admitting it now. I'd just take the test and hope for the best. Hopefully you'll quit risking it. "I guess I did have a glass of wine".....ummm, you guess??? You deny and deny and deny, and then we find out that well, you did have a glass of wine. It's no wonder our case managers treat everyone as guilty if they see stuff like this very often. I suppose trying to believe in people starts to wear thin if they see people jumping up and down claiming innocence all the time, only to have them finally admit to whatever it is in the end. PLEASE, if you get through this without getting kicked out of the program, remember your stress levels that you are experiencing right now and don't risk it again. A glass of wine just isn't worth it. I wish you luck.
If you get through this understand you will probably be under more scrutiny. In other words you will probably get the EtG option more and I would not be late with any paperwork. A positive early in the program is going to set off the alarm Bells. If your program also bans things like Benadryl and Sudafed and cough syrup. Do not use them. They are on option 4. Because I had false positive ethanols due to chronic UTI, I requested to take only etgs. I now test only option 3 or option 4 . I have pulled three fours in the last 2 months. Be careful. These options test for things you wouldn't even dream they would test for.

I've been monitored since 2008. Fun, fun. Anyway, I had a positive for hydrocodone about four years ago. I hadn't been anywhere near hydrocodone. I was prescribed Robitussin AC at the time. I researched a lot of how that could have happened and finally, paydirt. In certain people with a certain genetic anomaly, instead of testing positive for codeine, they'll test positive for hydrocodone. I know a bit about law and knew all I had to do is prove an element of doubt into the minds of the state folks. I wrote a letter explaining my findings, printed out a copy of the research paper, highlighted the important stuff, and Priority Mailed it to the president of the Nursing Board. Within three days, the test result was changed to negative.
If you test positive for alcohol, have you looked into whether any was used in cooking your food? Did you have nonintact skin while using hand sanitizer?
