Hi! Has anyone been placed on the OIG exclusion list? If so, how long did it take for you to get reinstated. I am reinstated through the BON, but am awaiting the letter from the OIG.

Funny you say that....I just found out I was reinstated and they told me they mailed me the letter. I never got it either. LOL hmmm....

I didn't get one in mail either!!
Hello there guys,
I have been in the same boat as ya'll and thanking God that I have reached this point. Im already reinstated by the OIG last nov. '23 and got my temp. RN refresher permit/license to activate my RN license that hasn't been used for over 5 years. Right now, im doing the refresher course from a nursing school. Since doing the skills lab and clinicals, the school requires a background check, but they already registered me in their system. Today I received a notice from the background check and I see that on FACIS 3 still shows my name as being excluded by the oig, but it also shows the reinstatement. Aside from that, there is this SAM (system for award managment exclusion) that states I am excluded? Do I need to worry about it? And will it affect my quest for employment?
thanks for your insights!
State Medicaid Exclusion Lists versus the Federal OIG exclusion list.
The 2 above are not the same. The ONLY way you can get onto the Federal Government OIG exclusion list is BY FIRST BEING PLACED ON YOUR STATES MEDICAID ExCLUSION/DEBARRMENT LIST. The state sends their report/recommendations to the Federal Government and the Federal Government/OIG then makes their decision. You can NOT be on the Federal OIG exclusion list and Not be on at least one states Medicaid exclusion/debarred list. To put it another way, if you are on the OIG Federal Exclusion List, you ARE on at least one states Medicaid exclusion list.
You certainly can be on a states Medicaid exclusion list and NOT be on the Federal Government exclusion list. Yhat happens all of the time.
If you get off of your states Medicaid Exclusion List, you then quickly apply to have yourself removed from the OIG Federal list which will happen. The Feds/OIG follows most of the time, the recommendations from the state to Add or Remove, especially when it comes to removal.

I just talked to a wonderful lady in D.C., and I was removed on 4/5/23. Never got the letter, but she emailed me a copy. There is at least 1 compassionate human working there! Thanks for the support! My paranoia is over!
