Hi there everyone. I didn't see a thread started yet, so I thought I would start one.
I am applying for the 2015 Accelerated BSN cohort (Portland campus) and am very nervous about the whole process with Nursing CAS and having transcripts sent to them.
I am also curious if anyone out there has an idea of what they are looking for and who will get interviews? It makes me nervous that there is no essay, so I assume that interviews will be based on grades alone. I have an undergraduate degree in Art History with a 3.64 GPA and a prereq GPA of 3.76 from PCC. Does anyone know if I even stand a chance? I have taken all of the prerequisites except for Micro, which I plan on taking in the winter.
It sounds like the interviews and no essays is a new thing? Does anyone know? Here's to hoping I at least get an interview!
I'm waitlisted, sadly. For all the other waitlisters: I talked to OHSU today and asked a million questions, most of which were answered with "I don't know," but she did say that last year everyone in the "Highly Likely" category got in. Then she stressed that each year was different, so that may not be the case this year. She said that if my number came up, I could state summer or fall preference and most of the time it would be honored if possible.
Does anyone have an idea how many people are in each group (highly, moderately, somewhat likely)? I would assume that they would be evenly divided, and since 73 people interviewed but didn't get in, that would put about 24 in each group. But that seems like a large amount of people that would've declined last year.
BIG FAVOR question: would you all please post here if you have been accepted OR waitlisted, and decline? It will give me, and probably others, some needed hope.
@adbivium - I can tell you right now that not everyone in the "highly likely" category got in last year. I was one of those people last year and did not get into either summer or fall. I know that the 2013 cohort went through the waitlist like crazy, but last year hardly anyone that was admitted declined their spot. So, its true that it is wildly different from year to year. Don't want to be a "debbie downer" but also don't want you to take the word from someone in admissions who may not be relaying the most accurate information. From my experience with the admissions office they've been very evasive and vague in their answers to admissions questions.
Ok, summer cohort for OHSU facebook group name.OHSU ABSN 2015-2016 Summer Cohort
Just search for that and ask to be added and I will add you. I will start putting in more information etc later tonight. I am about to go on a run and don't have time atm.
Thanks for putting it together. I unfortunately couldn't find the group when I searched for it on Facebook. Is it up and running?

I'm not in that cohort but I know from experience that Facebook groups can be hard to find until you are a member, especially from and iPad or phone app. From a laptop or desktop, search for the group in the Facebook search box. It might show no results. Click "more" then "groups" and the result should appear.
Hey all! Congrats to the new AccBacc Students! I just talked to admissions, and they put the letters in the mail yesterday, and the deadline to accept is 2 weeks from when you get the letter. So for the wait-listed folks, you shouldn't have to wait long to see if you get a seat! Fingers crossed! Also, the deposit is $200. Any FB groups for Fall yet?
Elocinahntnamas, have you gotten your letter?
@gemini23425 Not yet! I was sure it would come in Thursday or Friday : / They did say they "put them in the mail" on Wednesday... but I live in Portland, and there's no way it's taking this long. So maybe there was a delay. I'll update if I get it!
Has anyone talked to FinAid? I wonder how long it will take to determine what we've been awarded, and what the Fed Loan options are through FAFSA...

I tried to create a FB group for the Fall cohort, but it says that I need to add a friend in order to do so...
