  1. I applied for the 2020 start as well. So much waiting. Lol.
  2. I have created a Facebook group for this Linfield ABSN cohort. Look forward to getting to know everyone! "Linfield Portland ABSN 2015-2016 Cohort"
  3. For anyone attending Linfields ABSN program starting this summer I have created a facebook group. The title is "Linfield Portland ABSN 2015-2016 Cohort".
  4. @McCoy81 - I believe we have to let the Linfield Admissions office know our decision to accept or decline by May 1. @habeedashing - I'm anxious about this as well. However, I'm trying to reserve major panic until I receive the financial aid package (supposed to receive by April 1). There are plenty of lenders for private student loans out there, but I'm definitely trying to limit the amount of debt I'd need to carry. In the interim I'm doing a CPR class at CPR Lifeline in SW Portland in order to get my BLS card prior to the start.
  5. @adbivium - I can tell you right now that not everyone in the "highly likely" category got in last year. I was one of those people last year and did not get into either summer or fall. I know that the 2013 cohort went through the waitlist like crazy, but last year hardly anyone that was admitted declined their spot. So, its true that it is wildly different from year to year. Don't want to be a "debbie downer" but also don't want you to take the word from someone in admissions who may not be relaying the most accurate information. From my experience with the admissions office they've been very evasive and vague in their answers to admissions questions.
  6. Hey everyone! I was recently accepted into the Accelerated Bachelor's program at Linfield College's Portland campus. I was hoping to connect with other admitted students to the ABSN program. I'm very excited to begin this new journey. - I would like to setup a Facebook group for admitted students that are interested.
  7. Sorry to fill this up with posts, but if anyone else has been accepted to Linfield as well. Send me a message! OHSU has at this point let everyone who is a "yes" know their status as of yesterday. Looks like they sent out waitlist emails today.
  8. I also just found out that I'm an alternate for OHSU. So, those of you that were accepted and aren't going to attend let them know soon! :)
  9. Just found out I have been accepted to Linfield's accelerated program!! Pumped to start the next chapter of my life and career!
  10. @conaid - When did you find out you were waitlisted? You applied for the ABSN program as well?
  11. Here's to hoping more emails start flowing from admissions after lunchtime today :)
  12. I applied pretty early in the process last fall. Interviewed in the Friday groups and live in Portland. Considering so many people haven't heard anything yet, I have to assume they're emailing in waves either alphabetically or some other order. Anyone have a chance to give the admissions office a call this morning to find out more information? I'm going to try and call this afternoon after work if I haven't heard anything.
  13. I'm also curious as to the time you all received your acceptance emails? Did you interview on Thursday or Friday? Are you from out of town? I know in years past they've let the individuals from out of town know first. Still hoping I'll have an email pop in my inbox before the end of the day!
  14. The past few years they have offered both a summer and fall cohort for the ABSN program. I haven't heard whether they'll be doing the same thing this year or not. I do know that last year there were approximately 36 spots in the summer cohort and 24 spots in the fall cohort. My biggest questions now are how the group interview (with 5 prospective students) is going to be structured, and how many groups of 5 they'll be interviewing between the 2 days? With a potential of 60ish spots to fill could they possibly interview that many people (12 groups of 5) and still have people left over to put on the waitlist? Perhaps they've chosen the people they're confident they want in the program and the interview and essay are just a safety net to eliminate anyone who truly doesn't perform well? Anyone else have thoughts on this?
  15. I just received an email this afternoon as well letting me know that I was selected for an interview for the ABSN program! Very excited for this next and final step before final decisions are made!
