Hi there everyone. I didn't see a thread started yet, so I thought I would start one.
I am applying for the 2015 Accelerated BSN cohort (Portland campus) and am very nervous about the whole process with Nursing CAS and having transcripts sent to them.
I am also curious if anyone out there has an idea of what they are looking for and who will get interviews? It makes me nervous that there is no essay, so I assume that interviews will be based on grades alone. I have an undergraduate degree in Art History with a 3.64 GPA and a prereq GPA of 3.76 from PCC. Does anyone know if I even stand a chance? I have taken all of the prerequisites except for Micro, which I plan on taking in the winter.
It sounds like the interviews and no essays is a new thing? Does anyone know? Here's to hoping I at least get an interview!
Hi future classmates! I got accepted into the Summer cohort even though right after interviews I asked specifically for Fall entry due to a lot of prior commitments. I'm totally stoked to do the program but really hope I can delay my start date until Fall. Admissions office says "oops, we must have missed your request" and that now I will have wait until someone from Fall drops out or asks to switch in the opposite direction. Anybody out there get accepted for Fall but would rather start in Summer? I'd love to switch with you! I think if we could contact them in a coordinated fashion we'd have a much better chance of getting our request taken care of with less confusion. Thanks.

Hey twisted_helix, I am in the summer cohort so can't help you out (sorry!). Did they told you how likely it was that you would get a fall spot? I was interested in trying to move to fall but decided not to when they told me that I had to give up my summer spot to be added to the fall waitlist. It just seemed like a big risk! It's almost like they scared me out of it haha. Did they seem confident about you getting a spot when you spoke with them?
They thought it was "fairly likely" that at least one spot would open up for Fall... but now that I hear what they told you I'm not so sure. And they didn't tell me that I had to give up my Summer spot in order to be considered for a switcheroo! Hate to say it but this is consistent with a lot of the confusing info that Admissions has given me throughout the whole application process. That's why I REALLY hope I can find someone to switch with so we can both go to the office in person and make it happen with certainty. If I find out anything more I will be sure to post it here.
Hey guys!! CONGRATS to everyone starting summer and fall!! Anyone accepted into the Summer AccBac program??? (BTW - I received my letter yesterday in the mail.) Any input on helping me decide between Linfield and OHSU? I know we need to have our $200 in by April 8th to reserve for you guys on the waitlist - so I would assume they will start pulling off the WL shortly after. Although I know some people have been pulled off the list up until the first week before classes. Don't give up hope!!
Funny...that thought crossed my mind when I posted it :) I did post another question wondering which program might be best for a single mom of 4 - but I'm not sure one actually exists! I have a feeling it might be a bit challenging :) lol
Also - don't give up hope! I have been reading that a lot of students choose Linfield over OHSU because they are offered more financial assistance. Linfield is suppose to mail out the financial aid packets tomorrow so hopefully I will have mine by the end of the week. My fingers are crossed for you all!!

I am also on pins and needles waiting for the packet to arrive.
