Hi there everyone. I didn't see a thread started yet, so I thought I would start one.
I am applying for the 2015 Accelerated BSN cohort (Portland campus) and am very nervous about the whole process with Nursing CAS and having transcripts sent to them.
I am also curious if anyone out there has an idea of what they are looking for and who will get interviews? It makes me nervous that there is no essay, so I assume that interviews will be based on grades alone. I have an undergraduate degree in Art History with a 3.64 GPA and a prereq GPA of 3.76 from PCC. Does anyone know if I even stand a chance? I have taken all of the prerequisites except for Micro, which I plan on taking in the winter.
It sounds like the interviews and no essays is a new thing? Does anyone know? Here's to hoping I at least get an interview!
Any waitlisters call and ask if they've processed any "declines" from Wednesday? Or has anyone heard of someone who got a call off the waitlist at all yet?
I called yesterday and they said they'd be processing the declines as they come in. They'll send an email to those accepted off the waitlist. I haven't heard anything about anyone off the waitlist being accepted yet.

Thanks for calling them and sharing the info! I'll definitely keep my eyes open for an email. I don't know that I'll even be offered a spot...I'm on the "moderately likely" list. I'm not holding my breath (just secretly hoping and praying!). I have interviews with three other ADN programs in the next two weeks.
I'm just curious how many of you accepted out-right are certified CNAs with experience?
Hey snwbal41786, I am certified CNA with experience, but I don't recall ever giving them that information since they don't accept resumes with the applications. I don't think I even wrote about it in my proctored essays.
I spoke with admissions yesterday and they told me that they will be calling those who did not send a deposit this week to make sure they do not want their spot and will be calling wait listers after that. I was told that there are 15 people on the "highly likely" list and that in the past they have accepted up to 25 people off of the wait list to fill the cohort. She asked me to call back on Friday and that she could give me a better idea of the waitlist movement at that time.

I would love to call admissions and see how the waitlist is progressing! Between work and having to leave to attend to a family emergency in another state, I haven't had any spare time to call. I don't want to pester them either...I'm sure they get calls every day about it. Have you had a chance to call back?

I called the admissions office today and I was told they send out acceptance emails to those on the waitlist as they process responses of denials. Thus, they're not all sent out at once. I was given the impression there were quite a few denials to the Portland campus but they're just started to process everything so she was non-committal.
