OHSU's Accelerated BSN 2015 cohort

Published

Hi there everyone. I didn't see a thread started yet, so I thought I would start one.

I am applying for the 2015 Accelerated BSN cohort (Portland campus) and am very nervous about the whole process with Nursing CAS and having transcripts sent to them.

I am also curious if anyone out there has an idea of what they are looking for and who will get interviews? It makes me nervous that there is no essay, so I assume that interviews will be based on grades alone. I have an undergraduate degree in Art History with a 3.64 GPA and a prereq GPA of 3.76 from PCC. Does anyone know if I even stand a chance? I have taken all of the prerequisites except for Micro, which I plan on taking in the winter.

It sounds like the interviews and no essays is a new thing? Does anyone know? Here's to hoping I at least get an interview!

Just found out I have been accepted to Linfield's accelerated program!! Pumped to start the next chapter of my life and career!

I also just found out that I'm an alternate for OHSU. So, those of you that were accepted and aren't going to attend let them know soon! :)

Sorry to fill this up with posts, but if anyone else has been accepted to Linfield as well. Send me a message!

OHSU has at this point let everyone who is a "yes" know their status as of yesterday. Looks like they sent out waitlist emails today.

Congratulations to everyone who was accepted! This is definitely off topic, but does anyone know why OHSU is no longer ranked on US News and World Report? I don't consider this a bad thing or something that would change my opinion of the school, I know it is an excellent program, I am just wondering what it means.

Ok, summer cohort for OHSU facebook group name.

OHSU ABSN 2015-2016 Summer Cohort

Just search for that and ask to be added and I will add you. I will start putting in more information etc later tonight. I am about to go on a run and don't have time atm.

Well, I'm bummed. I'm an alternate...this was definitely my first choice program. Now it's a waiting game to hear back from other programs and if anyone from the absn program decides they don't want their spot. Oh well "/

I got into the fall cohort as well! Really looking forward to meeting you all. I live in Portland and will be around this summer; it would be fun to meet some of you :)

Has anyone made a fall cohort Facebook page/group yet? I also got accepted to start in the fall and it would be nice to know who else will be in all of my classes :)

@PDXbuckeye yes, I found out yesterday around noon I was waitlisted, for the ABSN program

If this helps anyone, I found out I was waitlisted as well. I got the email yesterday (March 25th) around noon PST. I was accepted to the ABSN program at Concordia University in Irvine so I'll be going there starting this June! At this point I have to take what I know is for sure. No idea how long us waitlisters will have to wait to find out if we get in or not... so I'm just counting my blessings at this point that I got into another great program. Congrats to everyone who got accepted to OHSU ABSN!

Anyone know how independent students fund the Acc Bacc program through loans? Recommendations on private lenders?

Hey all! Congrats to the new AccBacc Students! I just talked to admissions, and they put the letters in the mail yesterday, and the deadline to accept is 2 weeks from when you get the letter. So for the wait-listed folks, you shouldn't have to wait long to see if you get a seat! Fingers crossed! Also, the deposit is $200. Any FB groups for Fall yet?
