OHSU 3 Year BSN, 2019 Fall Start!!!

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

It was the last day to do it, but I OFFICIALLY SUBMITTED MY APPLICATION TO OHSU!!!! ?

Anyone else applying for this cohort?

A little about me: I am an older, non-traditional student, single Mama with 8 and 13 year old boys! I currently hold a BA in Psych. I wanted to apply to the ABSN, however, my Statistics class is over 7 years old, and it was also a C. ? I will just have to retake it, if I end up needing to apply next year. This is also my very first application cycle. ?

I feel like OHSU is definitely my top choice, but I will also be applying to Linfield, and possibly Concordia (only because they have an accelerated program, and seem to offer more start dates.

Now the waiting begins!!!! ? ?

No, I didn't get an information packet and live in California so I couldn't go to the mock interview... did you receive a packet? Can you send it to me via email?

I'm so nervous!!! I know I just have to be genuine, and either way it will be a good experience. A proctored essay makes me a bit nervous too. I have no idea what they'll ask or if its hand written or typed? A guess the more info I have on what to expect for the interview, the better I'll feel!

What’s your email?

The pocket should be attached to your email you got you click on the link and it gives you all the advice you need. I called and talked to XXXX he said that the proctors essay can be a paragraph to 5 paragraphs. And that it is a question like you answered on your application process. Try not to be nervous just be yourself and let your true colors shine just like they did in your previous essay as and you should be fine. Remember they already chose you for a reason the interview process should just be You going there and showing your true colors and why you deserve to be a nurse.

It might have changed the last couple years, but when I did it you had a time limit (something like a half hour) to read the question (the topic was related to medical ethics) and hand write notes, then another time limit (an hour or so) to type it out.

Most people got a page or two off.

Congrats friends! Can I ask what everyones Prereq GPAs were?? I know it's crazy to ask this late in the game, but maybe it'll help me mentally if I don't make it!

I will say this. The minimum is a 3.0 they look at everything all together. For me. I have all my prereqs done, I have chemistry done, I have an associates degree and soon to have a bachelors of science in public health, I have 10,000+ hours of healthcare experience, I also have lived experience as a marginalized population of people, I’m an Oregon resident, and they look at essays

GPA is not the all decider.
