Hi everyone! I haven’t seen a thread on this years BSN program and wanted to connect with other applicants! I was waitlisted last year, and applied again to the Ashland campus. How’s everyone feeling about their application?

I just got my email!! I was accepted into the Ashland fall cohort!! OHSU isn’t my top pick because of location and cost but this is so monumental for me! Regardless of what happens with my other schools, now I know I’m for sure going to nursing school this fall ??
after 3 years of applying and preparing for this moment.

I applied to the OHSU Portland BSN program, got invited to do the interview prompt essay questions, turned them in and am now eagerly waiting to hear back to see if I got accepted. The email I received upon confirmation of my essay prompts advised me that the decision letters would go out around the third week of April via email. Anyone get a decision yet for the Portland campus?

I applied to the portland branch! haven’t gotten a decision yet, I suppose it’ll be a handful more days until we find out. Im still refreshing my email like a maniac though… the wait is sooo hard haha. I hope they sent out rejection letters at the same time so I’m not dying of waiting any more. If you get in, you should post saying so! Fingers crossed for all of us!!

Thank you for letting me know, I’m glad to learn that I’m not the only one still waiting for a response. When I get my decision letter, I’ll post an update. ? in the meantime, I’ll keep waiting…

Today I received my answer back from OHSU, I’m an alternate who is moderately likely. If I don’t move up the list then I’ll try again next year. Good luck to you, let us know how you did as well ?

I’m bummed to hear that :( Nursing school in the PNW is so incredibly competitive. I did for my email as well, I was offered a spot, but you shouldn’t give up hope! It is still incredible that you are moderately likely. Good luck!

That’s great, I’m happy to hear you got accepted. May I ask what your credentials/background is?

Hi Everyone! Long time lurker, first-time poster here ?
Congrats to all of you who were accepted/given alternate status! And for those in my boat (denied entry), don't give up! I wanted to see if any of you who were accepted/waitlisted for the Portland campus would be willing to share your application stats, health care experience, other info that helps make you a strong applicant, etc.?
I applied to OHSU (pdx), PCC, and MHCC. I made it to "phase II" for both OHSU and PCC, but received a denial from OHSU on Friday, and a denial from MHCC earlier on (waiting to hear about selections from PCC in early June). I plan to call OHSU in the time frame they offered to advise students on how to strengthen their applications but thought getting some info from you folks would be helpful too.
Thanks in advance! ?

Hi! I too have been lurking a long time LOL. I applied for PDX and have been put on the alternate list. I have no idea how many people are ahead of me. I am listed in. the middle as "moderately likely" to be offered admission.
I have ZERO healthcare experience other than volunteer hours at community health fairs. I did have all prerequisites and core requisites completed. My Science GPA is 3.4 and my overall GPA is 3.8 (with a repeat course in Anatomy). I think my essays helped me stand out as well as my 250 hours for non-profits, working 2 years with underprivileged youth and underserved cultural programs. TEAS 84%. I applied to a ton of schools knowing my TEAS and GPA weren't competitive. I have applied to CSU San Marcos, CSU East Bay, California State University, Chico, SF State, San Diego State, OHSU, and the University of Tulsa. I have been rejected by all except OHSU(Alternate) and waiting on Chico (May 15) and spoke with UT today (letters are sent this week. The program director said I am highly likely to be accepted). Good luck, applying was hard and the prereqs were tough. Be kind to yourself, this *** is hard and way competetive.
