OHSU BSN, Fall 2022

Hi everyone! I haven’t seen a thread on this years BSN program and wanted to connect with other applicants! I was waitlisted last year, and applied again to the Ashland campus. How’s everyone feeling about their application?

OK, so OHSU Ashland will also be the first school I receive any definitive information from! I also applied to UCC (just did essays), RCC, Columbia basin, Linfield, and Belmont in Nashville. Columbia basin, Linfield, and Belmont don’t do a phase 2 they’ll just let you know during the scheduled time. RCC is the only one with a phase 2 that I know nothing about yet. You??

I also did the essays for UCC! I really enjoyed the process for their school. Even over OHSU it’s actually my top pick for schools based on many factors such as cost, location, and culture.. The faculty has been nothing but amazing every time I’ve interacted with them and I really want to go to a school that cares about my success. 
other than UCC I applied to OHSU Ashland, lane CC, Mt Hood CC, and SWOCC. Earliest I’ll find out after OHSU is LCC on April 21st and latest is end of June for SWOCC. 
I love that there are schools that don’t do a phase 2. That must be a lot less stressful. I didn’t want to do the TEAS exam because I’m terrible at standardized tests so I didn’t apply to a lot of the schools I could have.

I completely agree with your view on standardized tests. I only applied RCC this year because I’m local. My TEAS score was not where I would’ve hoped it would be. I’m a great student, I can pick up the material, study well for tests, etc. However, just a broad-based exam overwhelms me and I don’t do as well as I would like. I keep going back-and-forth between UCC and OHSU on my preferred pick. Obviously there’s a financial aspect. At this point I just wanna get in anywhere ??

Yes I hope I end up with options but I just want to get in to ANY of my schools ??

The cost compared to OHSU (assuming you complete the OCNE BSN after UCC to have an equivalent degree) is ~$24k less. It’s a huge factor for me, since I am heavily reliant on financial aid and scholarships. 
I hope you get what you want the most when it comes down to it. 
I went ahead and set my email notifications to alert as a banner without a preview so I don’t have to obsessively refresh the app anymore. It was getting bad ??? 

Then when I see its come through I can mentally prepare myself before I open it.

Hello everyone ,

I just received acceptance to the OHSU nursing program Monmouth campus starting  Fall 2022….this was my 4th year of applying to nursing programs…it’s hard to put into words how happy I am ….good luck to everyone ?

Thank you , Sarawalecki. The journey has been long and challenging, but I knew it was what I wanted and that wasn’t going to change, so I just had to stay focused and keeping working towards my goal  ? Kitty-22 I interviewed on April 5th. I wasn’t sure how I did on the interview…I left it feeling “OK” …. I was concerned at how fast it went….I am also in “phase 2” at PCC and MHCC, too. I was an alternate at Clackamas CC and PCC last year but never got a spot!

That’s awesome. We interviewed at Ashland on April 1st & 2nd… we have not heard yet!

Congratulations! I unfortunately wasn’t accepted for the same location, but I’m going to try again next year. I was happy to even get an interview invite for the program so next time I’ll be ready with the experience I’ve gained. Congratulations again! Enjoy your journey ?
