OHSU BSN, Fall 2022

Hi everyone! I haven’t seen a thread on this years BSN program and wanted to connect with other applicants! I was waitlisted last year, and applied again to the Ashland campus. How’s everyone feeling about their application?

Hi everyone! Regarding the OHSU Monmouth campus. I reached out and Katrin said I wasn’t on the list. I contacted her because she’s the one who sent me an invite to a mock interview. So it’s interesting they have you do the mock interview first before rejecting you?! Anyway, She said my rejection email would come letter and those invited to interview came out yesterday for the OHSU Monmouth campus. So far I’ve been rejected from OHSU Monmouth and Mt. Hood community college. Fingers crossed for my other three schools! Didn’t get in anywhere last year either. Eeeek!! Congrats to those invited to interview! Must be a nice feeling!!

Thanks for this information! I’m really rooting for you to get an interview for your other schools! Where else did you apply?

The mock interview is scheduled for 4 days before the actual interview though, which is very short notice. ? 

I understand, I’m not positive. However, since we haven’t heard yet, at this point I’m hoping that’s the case ??.

So exciting they’re going to let us see the questions ahead of time this year!! They didn’t do that last year!

That part is so exciting! I was so shocked to get the email because it was so late in the evening but I screamed with joy. Good luck to everyone who got an invite!

Also, no proctored essay this year!! Everything is different! Invite was addressed to me instead of “applicant”, like last year!! I had to go back to last years invite to see the differences ??! Good luck to you too!!

Hi Kitty-22 and sarawalecki, congrats to you guys too on receiving an interview invite, fingers crossed for all of us! ? I was wondering if you guys have any advice for preparing for the interviews? (I've gathered you've been through this process before) I haven't done an interview for nursing schools before and am so stressed about if I am preparing well enough or not!

Yes, I’ve been through the process, once, last year and was waitlisted at both OHSU Ashland, & RCC. My best advise is to go to the Mock interview. It was very helpful. Make yourself stand out. Update any responses with newer information & stories that relate to yourself. Think outside the box when it comes to diversity questions if you’re not “traditionally diverse”. Good luck to you both!! I’m not sure if we’re the only 3 for the Ashland campus on this site, but it’s all I’ve seen.

How are you guys feeling about the interviews? I’m very nervous for mine tomorrow, anyone have any tips ?

Hi Boba22, I am feeling all types of emotions right now. My interview for the Monmouth location is Tuesday. I am practicing keypoints I would like to address and say for questions but I as time is ticking I am getting nervous even though I feel prepared. But you are going to do great! Best of luck to you!
