OHSU BSN 2016 Applicants

Published

Hey everyone! I am applying for OHSU BSN monmouth program this coming Fall for the 2016 school year! I would love to get a thread started :) It was so helpful last year! I will also be applying for Chemeketa this year.

Hope to hear from you all soon!

Yeah, took about a day for most of them. I uploaded my polio one Friday and it's still pending so i guess they don't work the weekends, but other than that, the drug test, and the compass classes I've got all the compliance stuff done.

Is anyone on here waitlisted for ohsu ? Do you know what the chances are of getting in if you are ? The wait is killing me !

I was wait listed for the Portland campus! They listed me as having a moderate chance of getting called off the list and I'm trying to patiently wait. Even if they call me a week before classes start I would accept it in a heart beat! Good luck to you getting a spot!!

Me too they said moderate chance for me also. I know what you're going through , waiting is the worst part!!

How do you get access to the classes?

What classes are you speaking about? Registration for fall doesn't open until August, and the Compass classes to become compliant also don't open up until about a month before the quarter starts.

Oops, I misunderstood your earlier comment! Thanks!

How long did it take everyone to hear back from OHSU once you sent in your deposit and acceptance letter?

4-5 days later I got a bunch of emails with my ohsu user name and pin and an invite to add the student ambassador on Facebook.

For anyone that has already started the modules in Compass, how long are they? What is the format?? Learn then test, just listen, listen and test while you go? I cant see the description and I want to make sure I am able to start and complete or pause and go back later. Any info would be greatly appreciated! :)

I've been doing the Compass trainings already, since as an OHSU volunteer I already have access to the system. They're pretty easy -- NOTHING compared to A&P -- and it can mostly be described as: listen/watch the modules for about 5 minutes, quick quiz on the concepts you just learned, continue on for 5 minutes, another quiz, etc. It's honestly really straight-forward stuff, and then occasionally you'll learn something worth learning about that wasn't common sense. I think I did them all in about 6 hours. Also, you can find all (or nearly all) of the forms needed to submit to Complio by searching "ohsu.edu compliance school of nursing" on Google...the page with all the info will be the first result. Hope this helps!

Thank you for the info, a few more questions sorry. So one can pause it and go back later without losing the completed work correct? So it is not like one must sit for an entire module at once.

Thank you!

Eh I think some of them (the longer ones especially) you can save progress like that but not the others.
