Hello! Hopefully this is posted in the correct forum. I've been looking for months to see if anyone has started a thread about applying to OHSU's ABSN program for 2016, and couldn't find anything (just a thread for the traditional BSN). So I thought I'd start one!
I finished my Nursing CAS application in November, and just updated with my fall term grades last week. So now I'm anxiously awaiting contact!
A little about me and my app:
I come from a social science background, and have worked in the non-profit sector for the last 7 years. I'm a Portland native, and am currently working as a birth doula. I volunteer in a NICU, and I have a 17 month old son. My cumulative GPA is 3.96, and I still need to complete A&P III and Statistics (winter term) and Microbiology (spring term). I did ask OHSU if not having all the prerequisite complete at the time of application would affect my chances, and they said that it wouldn't (so hopefully that's the case!).
I'd love to hear from other applicants, so please feel free to post a little about yourself!
If there was no mention of groups, I'm assuming they didn't have to break it up as much (fewer applicants for Ashland vs. Portland). I'm assuming there's still about the same number of applicants to the program this year vs last year (doesn't seem to vary too much) but that this board just wasn't utilized for some reason.
And yes, looks like the only required item to bring is photo ID.
I applied to the Ashland cohort. I didn't see any mention of Group 1B, or any Groups. I'm assuming this is for the PDX cohort only, correct?
I just wish we knew if they got our survey monkey
responses.
Anyone, has additional comments?
seems like very few people applied this year, compared to the 2015 forum which was full of comments.
I haven't received an email yet, which makes me think that I wasn't accepted. But was a 3 day weekend, so I'm not sure if they sent out one round of emails on Friday and are doing another on Tuesday. If I don't hear by tomorrow or Wednesday I'm going to assume it was a no (bummer!)
"Waiting" might be the wrong word. I'm "hoping" but as of Friday I pretty much had to admit that I probably didn't get in. Good luck, there's nothing that indicates all emails have been sent :-)
