Hi,
I was just wondering if anyone else is applying for the ABSN at OHSU for 2021? I just submit my application for the Ashland campus and would love to connect with other people who are applying! I'm feeling pretty nervous about how competitive the program is ?

Wow, this is so disheartening. I just emailed someone in admissions to confirm that there won't be rejection emails going out. I'll let you guys know if that person responds and any new info.

Yeah, I believe that I did not get a rejection email until after the final decisions had been made for admissions. So, March last year? It was really frustrating because I kept hoping that maybe there were cycles of interviews, but no.

Those who received the first round of invites for the Ashland ABSN have until 3/1 to claim their spot. After that, OHSU will move down the applicant list and send out invites to fill remaining interview spots. Most schools will send an official rejection email, usually the week of interviews, but OHSU may be doing things differently.
Someone else asked about the number of program openings for the Ashland ABSN. Last year, they accepted 28. I was hoping they'd increase the number of openings this year. There's constantly a nurse shortage and programs rarely increase the number of seats. Thus, they turn away eligible applicants all the time. ??
This is the info I got. Not super enlightening because of what @Le_Chatlier so kindly responded. But here it is:
"Invites to interviews for the ABS program at the Ashland campus are just starting to be sent out this week. What will happen is that invites will be sent via email to select applicants. As applicants decline the interview we will continue to fill those spots with other applicants.
In order to get into the program you must be invited and actually interview. So if you do not receive an interview invite you will know in advance that you were not admitted in to the program. Final decisions will be sent 3 weeks after interviews take place."

I applied last year and I did receive a rejection email. Although, I don't recall how long after interview emails were sent out.

It sounds like the rejection emails go out when the acceptance emails go out, not the interview emails. Makes sense since technically the acceptance process isn’t complete but it does drag on the anxiety strings ?
