Why are ppl taking Ethics?

I've seen a number of people taking Ethics. Each time I see that they are taking Ethics, I ask why they are taking it, but I never get an answer! I don't see it as a required course, and I don't see where it fulfills an gen ed or BSN major requirements.

Can anyone explain?

Some schools if fulfills a gen ed elective other schools biomedical ethics is a nursing major requirement. Not all schools have the same requirements. Some BSN programs require biochemistry, micro, A&P, nutrition & pathophysiology. Other programs just require basic chem, A&P & micro

Answered on another thread, but it is a Tier II Humanities and Literature. Required per my DARS.

I earned my Gen Ed AA and was required to take Applied Ethics. My college offered Healthcare Applied Ethics and it was a wonderful course. We tackled subjects like physician assisted-suicide and abortion. Considering that it was an online class, people seemed to be more open about sharing their views. I found it fascinating that their were so many people that could not separate their own views about a situation from what is ethical.

Now I am in a BSN program and Ethical/ Legal Aspects of Nursing & Healthcare is a required course for our program.

I did not have to take an Ethics class because I had enough general ed and humanities classes that transferred in.

Maybe they're interested in ethics?? Not everyone takes only the required courses ...
