Do you mean OUL and OU Pickerington? My sd attends college at OU main but she is in a different major. I don't know anything about the waiting lists. Is there something else you might want to know about? My hubby is a professor at OUL and OU Pickerington.

Oh sorry, i mean ohio university, the main campus being Athens and the regional ones, zanesville, ironton and chillicothe.

OU Athens only has an RN to BSN program (unless it's changed the past couple of months). The regional campuses have associate degrees.

Yes am from columbus,can anyone offer me some advice on what is best should i just go there and wait to join one of the regional campuses for nursing, i dont even know if i can do the pre-req. there in Athens or should i just join one of the regional campuses that offers nursing.Am asking all these bcoz i have a 4yr old and a 2.5mth old so am just trying to avoid alot of movt.Then i need a place where i can also work as i study.

If you are even considering moving to AThens the housing lists are long. My dtr is renting a room at 475. A room only.

Hubby teaches health classes at OUL and OUP and you might want to check the on line classes and off site classes they offer at those two branches. He has nursing students in all of his classes. I will ask him when he gets home but yes they count towards the degree. Did you check their website? If you can get pre reqs done at the branches it is alot cheaper too. My dtr put her name on the housing list one full year before a room came open/off campus.

The downside is eventually you will have to go to the main campus. Be aware that the Main campus, even though they give credit for off site classes passed they think that the branches stink. It is an internal political problem.

I had an ADN and had practicing for over 15 years in many venues. The told me they would make me retake my entire ADN as it was not good enough for them :rotfl: . I promptly left and went elsewhere.

Just make sure you want to go and finish there as if you go elsewhere even though it may be a reciprocal college on their list, they may say no for stupid reasons.

I guess i have to move to athens hopping they offer those pre-req.about housing i was planning to just look on apartments for rent anywhere not so far from campus is fine with me, anyway right now am at my wits end i dont know anybody there and i have never been there i really have no idea where to start from, my plan was to go down there and spend a weekend looking for an apartment, i feel so frustrated anyone with an idea:crying2: ?What do you mean the housing lists are long is it just near campus or all over Athens?

The list of housing needs is long near campus. Some buildings are student/student-professor housing only.

I talked to hubby last night and he said he is pretty sure you can get your entire BSN at the Lancaster campus. He said he is also sure Zanesville even has a ADN program.

Don't get so discourged, you have a long way to go yet. When we moved here I knew no one. It can be fun........

I took the RN program in Zanesville, I liked it just fine!

they also have BSN online but you would need to go to athens for internship. goodluck!!! If you have any questions just call Denise at the OUZ nursing office she will direct you to where you need to go for more info!

I just received my acceptance letter to the Associates Degree program at OU Zanesville...there is no urban legended "waiting list". Either you're in or you're not! I have only been at OUZ for 5 months, and I got right in. I had Biology and Chemistry in high school (11 years ago),scored really high on my Compass(entrance exam), and got a 4.0 last quarter. I'm sure those things helped...but the point is, I got right in. And, I am yet to meet someone on this "waiting list". I, too, heard horror stories of girls getting all their pre-req's done, and then sitting out for a year waiting to be accepted. Again, I have not met any of these people...

When I heard these "waiting list" stories, I called the nursing department...I was HOT! I wanted to know if there was such a list, and how many people were on it. They dismissed the fairy tale, and insisted that there isn't such a list. All files that are submitted are reviewed, and either accepted or rejected. The rejected ones are not kept in any sequential order...like, "this one is first next time"...you know what I mean? So, I'm living proof that there isn't a waiting list.
