911!!!!!!!!!!!!
I really need some serious advice here, i am a cna who has been thinking about going to school. I had a planned pregnancy in 2004 the baby came in JUly 2005 and my plan was to go to school in 2006 for my lpn, when the baby was at least 1 yr old so that i wouldnt feel so bad taking her to a daycare as by then she wouldnt be such an infant. The programme i was planning to attend is a full time programme 5 days a week from 8 to 3.30 for one year. They take in students three times a year, feb, June and oct.Now my plan was to attend the June programme. But before i went to register, i had already found out their preqs and done them already, i wasnt feeling well that was in may. I went to hospital only to discover that i was again pregnant, i was really surprised as i had taken precautions but i think its just Gods plan to give me another blessing. Anyway my question is this should i go for the oct programme or Feb of next year, but am expecting the baby around 21st of Jan, the Feb prog, begins early Feb the baby probably wont be even 3wks old.Another option is a part time programme for lpn that is 21 months long and take pple twice a year thats in april and september that way i can still work and go to school.and also at least by april the baby will be big enough, pliZ advice me i dont want to waste anymore time!!!!!

how many patients do you have
i work at a nursing home in Oh, residents btn 5-7 at most.I thought i had lots of work but from reading other posts i think am quite okay. Those who work 3rd shift get 10 residents each.

Skills Test for CNA
always rem to wash your hands before and after each skill, knock the residents door and explain what you are going to do.Just master all the skills and practice doing them on some teddy or doll or something, esp things like peri and catheter care. Also just relax its not so hard.

Thank you Gloria the keywords being changed the briefs before taking further action.

What if CNA won't work?
From ur post i get it that u are still working as a cna and worked with this other person who was watching basketball instead of doing her job. What i really dont understand is why couldnt you help the resident with the briefs instead of the resident having to wait till the next shift, just out of being responsible even though this wasnt ur resident i mean how long would that take. Am not saying that you take over her duties but this seemed like an isolated case at that moment assuming maybe the resident was in the hallway for eventhe nurse to comment. What if the resident had fallen would u have had to wait till the next shift?Excuse me but you dont appear to be any different from the other cna.

I hope you checked on the list of accredited schools.

The Ultimate Question!!!
if you work 8-5 what time are your classes?
-
working while in school?(long post)
You can be nice and all that but this is your future we are talking about! If you want really to be a nurse you have to set your priorities right, you can still be a student and find work around yur schedule. This dental office that you are talking about will not close just bcoz you leave, you found it there and you will leave it there. Also if you really want to do nursing you will eventually have to leave anyway so on being nice to this pple is it better to leave now bfore they get used to you or after? Its good you have known what you want to do early in your life, go for it!
