Hello All,
I am looking to connect with others who are applying to OSU's Traditional-Entry MSN program for Fall 2020 admission. Or, if anyone out there is currently in the program or recently graduated, I would love to hear your input on the school!
I am planning to apply to the PMHNP and have a BS in Biology and am completing an ADN in nursing currently. I am also a mental health technician on an inpatient psychiatric unit.
Advice, information, and encouragement for all current applicants is what I am hoping this thread is able to provide. Please introduce yourself and add anything you like relevant to the OSU MSN traditional-entry programs.
Good luck during this cycle everyone!
I applied to both the PNP traditional route as well as the PNP BSN to DNP track. Based on what I have been told from coworkers we are notified of acceptance at the end of February. They sent a timeline soon after application with key dates and one of the dates is Feb 27th for a "New student welcome event." So I would assume we should hear back in the next 2 weeks! Good luck to all!!
I emailed admissions in early February to inquire if the timeline for decisions was still late February. They did confirm that most applicants would have decisions by the end of February. I was also told that, if admitted, we would receive an email and a virtual admissions packet. We then have 4 weeks post decision to accept or decline.
I am hoping that the decisions may come next week so we can prepare travel to attend the welcome event. Good luck to everyone! Not long left hopefully.
I’m sorry to hear that Cbus93. Hoping for a better outcome for you in the future. Did you apply to other schools too and do you think you will reapply to OSU this coming cycle?
I’m still pending - but for a different specialty than you had applied.
Thanks for letting us know you got word and good luck with your other/future apps! I think this just takes persistence and luck.
I just got my decision right now and was also declined.
That does sound like a tough schedule for sure. I think the GPA is acceptable for most of the MSN programs out there though.
My plan is to apply more broadly next time around I guess.
Honesty, I’m just glad to have a decision cause the waiting wasn’t fun! Now we can make other plans. Hope you have a good day and do something fun.
