  1. They may not look exclusively at GPA, but they also aren’t going solely on experience as I have 6+ years and was waitlisted.
  2. I didn't get an interview, but I can be helpful on this matter lol. You are applying for a DNP program, however because they haven't had the curricula (which should be finalized this month or next from what they said when I met with them) the application still says MSN.
  3. Congrats! I did and I haven't received one as of yet. I also only applied here, it's my first choice but if it's not in cards this year I will consider applying to others as well next year. Do you know if you're interviewing the first or second week?
  4. I'm local, so thankfully I don't have to worry about that aspect. I'll post if I hear anything. Did you apply to any other schools?
  5. Yes I did. I would imagine we will start hearing soon, at least I hope so lol. Are you local, or would you be having to arrange flights etc?
  6. I applied, but have not received any communication at this point. They did post on their Facebook page that individuals chosen to interview would be contacted during this coming week.
  7. I am just starting out and recently signed my first contract. I signed up with about 4 or 5 after grilling about 20 agencies. I think it worked out pretty good for me as I was able to see who was offering the most. It also gave me solid footing when I negotiated my contract. I think I would easily have been taken advantage of if I had only signed with one.

Thanks for the quick reply Ned. Your posts were most helpful to me starting the process. I feel as if I could have easily been taken for a ride as a first timer if I hadn't scoured the posts here and on other sites:)

Yes NED the it was the only thing I frowned about but she wouldn't really budge any higher.

AMN. I love the recruiter I have there ( I was referred by a friend ). They will also give that $100 bonus on top of ot for an extra shift. And they included insurance for me and my daughter ( not being taken out of weekly pay)

So I've talked to a few companies that have recruiters I seem to "click" with. After talking about pay packages I was submitted and accepted a contract. I am fine with the pay as it is my first assignment, but would love to get some feedback as I haven't seen many posts about Columbus, OH. So here it is: medical/ cardiac icu nights....no float....1:2 ratio....pca's for baths, ecg's, etc 20.09 taxable base 500 travel 1850/mo housing 245/ week m&ie 45/hr ot I currently live in ohio ( but won't be able to travel home) and wanted to " get my feet wet" while I'm waiting for my california license. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated:)
  12. Hi all! I know this thread is a few months old but I was wondering how long you waited in between your phone interview and a manager calling for a face to face. I had a phone interview last Thursday and HR said they were opening my application to the cardiac and med surg units:) Any responses would be greatly appreciated, I am so excited about the possibility of working there!!!!
  13. There is an excellent book that our school required called [h=1]Prioritization, Delegation, and Assignment: Practice Exercises for the NCLEX Examination, 2e, there is a newer edition coming out soon but i used the 2e. It really helped with the multiple "who needs to be seen first, etc" questions I encountered when I took NCLEX in sept. I passed 78 questions, hope this helps:) Hang in there!!![/h]
