Hey! I was hoping to start a thread consisting of summer 2017 applicants to Ohio State's Graduate Entry program. I just finalized my application and submitted last Friday! Well before the deadline in October so I'm hoping that helps. I guess you can say I'm an overly proactive type of person lol. Blessing and a curse. But I've completed all pre-reqs except Microbiology..... which I'm in right now until December. My GPA isn't strong at all 3.2. I'll be taking the GRE in September so I'm pretty much dedicating a lot of my time to studying for that...
Anyways, I hope to meet more people who applied/will apply this year for next summer :)
I am in Columbus although originally from the East Coast and came here by way of Wisconsin. I have been out of school for...wait for it...over 20 years! Meanwhile, I can't figure out how to do the recommender thing. Do I have to create accounts for each of them? I emailed the nursing@osu but haven't heard back yet. Can someone help me please?
Erinl1972, did you submit your application yet? When you do your application, you have to add your references and their contact info. Once you submit your application and it shows up as received, then OSU will send an email to your recommenders to tell them what they need to do.
Erinl1972, I to have been out of school for 20 years. Just finishing up a couple of classes for the pre-reqs & already turned in application and all. Yes you have to submit & then they will send the links for your recommendations to the people you have chosen. Word of advice follow up with them to make sure they received the link. Two of my recommendations have OSU email addresses and they were fine but the one that didn't have an OSU email address I had to call the graduate school and have them resend to her. So glad I followed up or I would have been screwed. That being said, so glad there is someone else in my shoes trying to do this!
I would have loved to get another professor for mine but I hadn't made really strong connections with a lot of them, so the one I did ask knows me really well! I think 3 professors sounds great! I emailed the College of Nursing last year and they said it could all 3 professors or varied, they just wanted at least one, so you all are fine! They really like the academic ones from what I understand.
It looks like they didn't start interview invitations until at least the beginning of December last year. I hope we hear something sooner than that, though!!
I hope it's sooner since this cycle they went back to just one speciality like all of the previous cycles other than 2016! In 2015 some had decisions by early December!
