OHIO STATE -FNP traditional masters 2017

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi everyone!

I thought I would start a thread for everyone that is applying to the FNP traditional masters program for 2017! I have heard from many that the wait is anxious and long. I also just talked to a lady at the graduate college of nursing and she stated that this year everyone will be receiving an interview as it will be part of now the general application process. I was told by my friends that got admitted last year that getting an offer to interview was stating that you were competitive enough, but it seems this year it is now standard. I am super anxious! I applied to the online FNP, does anyone have any idea how many students they admit for the online program? My GPA is at 3.1, I have four years of RN experience, and I feel strongly about my letter of intent and my recommendations. The lady I spoke to today said that they have let in some with a GPA as low as mine but she also said it was their statement and recommendations that pulled them through. I'm hoping I get pulled through!! But I honestly have doubts. What does everyone else's credentials look like? What have you heard about the admission process this year? I would love to hear from other candidates, and wish everyone the best of luck!! Hopefully a good start to a new year for all of us!

@kkad22 Unfortunately I won't hear anything from Otterbein until after OSU makes their decision, I would prefer Otterbein honestly. Also I am working on the OU app now and am basically done. Whichever I get into first is the the one Im going with. OSU tuition is redonkulous, OU and Otterbein are about 25K and I would rather go either of those directions. Also, my spouse works at The James and I can tell you there is a great deal of bureaucracy at OSU, but hey when in Rome and thats why I applied to OSU. At the end of the day it really doesn't matter where you go. Nonetheless I am still nervous and really just want to hear one way or the other. Good luck to everyone

Update. I spoke with the FNP program coordinator earlier this week to get a pulse on the progress (and because my nerves are getting frayed). I was told that ALL applicants will hear a determination at the same time and that will be in a few weeks from now (before May 1st). She also shared that they will email a decision and that we could follow via app status online (you probably have an email about this). Let May 1st get here already! :woot:

Is anyone else going crazy over waiting for decisions?? I was at work the other day and met one of the online FNP instructors for Ohio states program.. of course I asked him if he knew anything about decision day and he said very soon and that they found out last year April 15. He couldn't tell me exact date for this year but he said it'll be about the around the same time. UGHHH 😑,

Yes... GOING CRAZY!

Anyone hear anything? I'm putting my money on this Friday, or the following Monday!

Nothing yet! I'm so nervous. This legitimately is the only program I applied to. Well I applied to another one as backup but I don't really want that one.

Decisions are being posted right now, you may want to look at app status

Still pending for me!

Does anyone know the actual start date in August of the FNP program?

How do you know? Is it a reliable resources?

Yes, because mine changed today to not accepted at 0900. So if yours has not changed then you're still being considered

Oh no!!!! What the heck!!
