Baldwin Wallace ABSN Program 2015-2016

U.S.A. Ohio

Published

Hi everyone. I have been accepted to the Baldwin Wallace ABSN program for 2015-2016. I'm graduating from Ohio State this semester with my B.S. in Psychology and decided to pursue a career in psychiatric nursing instead of psychiatry and felt that the BW program would be the best way for me to do it in a timely manner. Anyways, I wanted to see how recent graduates liked the program, how they did on the NCLEX and how fast they found employment after graduation? I also wanted to know if any recent graduates had received the HRSA Nursing Corps Scholarship program while attending as I am thinking of applying but I'm not sure of my chances since I would be enrolled in an accelerated program. Also where did you and your classmates live? Please let me know about any experiences and things to be aware of.

Hi!! I'm new to all nurses so personal message me and I can help you out! I'm currently a student at BW

I'm not able to send private messages yet, but I am also very interested in BW's ABSN program and would love to hear about it from current students!!!

Any updates on this guys? Please message here as most of us can't PM because we are new.

If anyone has additional information on the BW ABSN that would be wonderful! I am in the process of applying and would love to hear about it from current or past students. I've read some things from when the program first started, and I'm curious if as the program has become more established, some of the kinks have been worked out.

Thanks!

Hi there,

I will be starting this fall for their ABSN program. I have visited campus and talked to the BW folks. I have been very impressed with what they offer. Clinical rotations are really good, as you get the chance to learn at sites such as Cleveland Clinic, University Hospitals and also get to see what smaller community clinics/offices are like. Anyone else out there starting this fall?

Hi guys,

I'm sure you all are enrolled now, can you guys comment on your experience so far and the job prospects if you have graduated.

Hi, everyone!

I hope some of you will check back here. I have been accepted to BW's ABSN prorgam starting in August 2017. I was wondering what advice you have, anything you wish you would have known beforehand? Also, what are the clinical rotations like? How much does your class and clinic schedule vary throughout the year, and did any of you have a job? I'm so excited to start and hope to find out as much as I can to try to prepare myself!

Hope to hear from you!

Lacey

Hey Lacey,

i am currently applying to Baldwin Wallace and really hoping to start in August 2017. I have my second interview next week and was wondering if you have any tips? If not, can you tell me how long it took to hear back from them after your second interview? Thank you for any help!

Hi, Emily!

Congrats on your second interview! What I liked a lot about the second interview was that it was more of a conversation and had a 'get to know you better' feel to it. They still asked some interview questions but mostly talked about information on your application and answered any questions you may have. My biggest tip is to be yourself. Be genuine and make sure they understand why you want to be a nurse and provide care for others. They do these interviews several times a year so I feel like they can tell when someone is genuine, or if they are reciting what they think is the right answer to a question. Does that make sense? I hope that's a bit of advice to help you. It only took a day or two before I received a call letting me know I was accepted. Good luck to you and feel free to message me if you want to stay in touch!

Lacey

Thank you so much! I really want to go so I'm super nervous, but we'll see how it goes. If I get in I'll definitely message you to stay in touch. Thanks again!!
